Hi all, after 5 years of vaping I'm thinking about making the plunge into RBAs. I read some old threads, which were extremely helpful, but I imagine a lot of new models have come on the market in the last year so I wanted to see if there were any newer RBAs i should look at.

My primary criteria is that I'd like to keep it under $40 or so. If I like the way it works I may get something fancier later on, but I don't want to jump into a $100 model for my first one. And I'm a tank guy, so dripping RBA's probably aren't my style as much.

As a secondary criteria, I'd like to be able to keep using my ego-C twist VV batteries, since I've got quite a stockpile... but I'm resigned to the fact that I'll probably need to upgrade to a better battery in the near future anyway, so it's not crucial.

I've been looking at the AGA T2+, which seems to be spoken well of and definitely fits my price range, but if there's a better model out there I'm happy to grab it instead.

Thank you very much!

Just to jump this off, with rebuildables it wouldn't be the most effective with an ego. It's gonna pull so much from that little guy. So maybe finding a cheap hybrid Clone would be a nifty idea. =p

Kayfuns/Russians fare VERY well on 1.5ohm coils w/ standard style batteries. I'd invest into one of those clones and happy vaping full flavor!

Most rebuildables you would be able to acquire will look... interesting on an ego battery. Haha that's the nicest way I can say that lol. However, the AGA-S doesn't look bad.

That said, I wouldn't be comfortable building it on an ego unless you have a dedicated ohm reader, or a device that can tell you the ohms. It's not really that safe.

The AGA-S is one of the most difficult devices to build that I've ever owned. Everything will be screwed down properly and even with a cotton wick, it won't fire. More fiddling, and it fires. More fiddling and it doesn't fire. That's why I build it on my Provari, test it on my Provari for a half hour, then safely slap it on my wifes Vision Spinner (large ego battery). Its really confined for at home use though because its kind of a leaky device. I've heard whispers of kayfun mini's, but I think they're discontinued and hard to find. Those are likely 19mm, the diameter of a protank II. Visually doable on an Ego battery but would still get funny looks.

But the AGA-S is close to the diameter of an ego battery. Wider than an ego battery, but slimmer than a Protank II. It looks alright on an ego, but certainly makes it top heavy

In my opinion anyway

I'd like to be able to keep using my ego-C twist VV batteries.
Are there specific models you recommend?
As the limit of ego-C twist VV batteries is 2 or 2.5 amps, the math (for 2.5a/4v) resistance is 1.6 ohms... a very good value for a Kayfun, Taifun GT & GS, sQuape or R91% type atomizer.
Any of these can be found for under or a bit above $40 in the US. If you don't mind the wait, you can order a Kayfun/R91%, Taifun GT, Taifun GS or sQuape from Fasttech for under $30.
If waiting is not an appealing process and you don't mind paying extra for the privilege, some of the lower prices found in the US will be on eBay.

Of the 4, if you have no immediate intention of buying a larger format battery with higher amperage limits... I'd highly recommend the Taifun GS, mostly due to it's smaller, more in keeping with the eGo battery, form factor.
No, the quality of manufacture and even vape is not the same as the $132 genuine Taifun GS... but for $25, it's still a worthwhile investment.

I second the Taifun GS suggestion. It'll look a lot less awkward on an ego style battery than anything else suggested.
You can definitely still use egos, but like stated previously they have a much lower amp limit than apvs and of course mechs.
You'll just have to build your coils at a higher ohm, you won't get as good a cape as you would on say, a mech mod, but it would definitely be a step up from any clearos or cartos.
