Vamo is a great entry level APV, certainly the best value, but it's a lot less than $75, and there are better APV's out there. BTW, before you jump on me Vamo-Lovers, I have a V2 and the new V3 and love them both. That being said, stick with the sigelei or innokin lines with you're higher budget. Great quality, great looks, and most models for $75 or less. Check Vapor Joe's for the best deals out there (http://.........blogspot.com/). In these two lines you will find the Innokin MVP, the iTaste 3.0, the SVD (As others have said Fasttech has the genuine article for ridiculously low prices). On the Sigelei side you have the mini, the Telescoping V3 (my personal favorite) and the Sigelei V2. By the way, with the exception of the SVD, I have all of these APV's. I have checked out the SVD, and I'm not sure it's for me (the etching "instructions" turn me off), but it is certainly a quality APV with multiple buttons providing ease of use, etc. I held one in my hands just yesterday. Can't pull the trigger....that's just me, though.

At your price point, you can even get an eVic kit from Fasttech. They are fantastic in many ways, but they are a bit underpowered at 5 volts (though I rarely go over 5 volts personally), underwhelming quality and extremely fragile. I have three of them and have lost two to drops. But, the eVic does have the best display in the vape world and the usb interface is like no other. If you don't have butterfingers, then a possibility.

Your question asked about variable voltage and every APV I recommended also has variable wattage/power. You may like variable power. I do, and I'd rather have it and not use it, than not have it. Few APV's without VW also have a built in ohms meter, and you do need an ohms meter in the vaping world. The ProVarinati will disagree, and I have two, but it's not in your budget at this time. Personally, I have my eye on the Semovar that just came out this weekend. Rambling now. Please check out Innokin and Sigelei. It really helps if you can find a shop that carries these APV's as you really need to hold them, check the heft, the build, the quality, the look, etc. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but they're a lousy way to buy a mod. My two cents. Welcome to the forum, good luck, happy shopping and Vape On!

How does the SS Vamo V2 compare to the LavaTube? since that seems to have similar features, is getting the most props, is much less expensive than the Lavatube, and it looks really cool.
The LavaTube is VV. The Vamo is VV AND VW. Adjust the wattage and it doesn't matter what ohms device you put on it will always fire at the right voltage. I've used and/ or owned many PVs and have to say the Vamo is the best one yet. The easy to use menu is a bonus with instant scrolling.
Also: how reliable is Fastech as far as returns and customer service? Also, what are the advantages of the V3 over the V2 besides one looking like a light saber and one looking like it belongs under someone's bed?
Have ordered 4 times from them and very pleased. Friend ordered a cheap PV and was DOA. FT replaced it with no questions asked.
Here's a kit that if ordered in N. America would cost approx. $100.
$51.96 Vamo-Vivi Stainless Steel Voltage Adjustable E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 US battery charger/charger cable/2*Panasonic CGR18650CH 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Comes with GREAT batteries and charger. The non SS Vamos are fingerprint magnets and scratch very easily.
Vamo V3- yes there is a recall with some because of firing button issues.
Best of Luck.
