Since I began vaping I have always used mount baker as they are recommended a lot and their prices are good..

But I just got back into vaping after a break and went right to mount baker vapor and ordered their best selling juice "Hawk Sauce" and got as many flavor shots as I could (5) and I'm not impressed at all, there's definitely a very subtle fruityish/berry/menthol flavor like people say, and it's smooth and enjoyable enough to vape as in it doesn't taste bad, but it's not even enough flavor to keep me interested, I wish it were 50 times stronger.

I don't know if steeping would make that big a different in INTENSIFYING the flavor would it? I hear the longer you steep this juice the more menthol and less fruity and I'd prefer more fruity.. It could be my taste buds too from just getting off cigarettes again.

But anyhow, in a few days I'm thinking of ordering from a different vendor, I don't even care how expensive it is as long as I'm blown away by it.. I'd still be saving money if it kept me vaping rather than if I went back to smoking.

So any suggestions you have I'd appreciate, thanks. :) :2cool:

I have ordered extra flavor shots and ran into a "different taste than I wanted. I have also added my "own" flavor shots and it didn't work out well. The flavor changes and not necessarily for the better.

I hope good juice makers test their recipes using hardware and power that is common in the user market. But, that being said, am I using similar set-ups? I think most vapers use non-DNA MODS and lower watts. So, if the maker doesn't use that, our taste will be different. I just see all kinds of variables between what the maker is putting out and what comes out of a user's drip tip.

DIYers adjust their mixes for their taste.

The process from juice maker to user taste buds has a lot of variables.

I would like to get into mods and stuff maybe but I don't fully understand how they work and why they are so expensive..

Right now I am using a Kangar Protank tank on a Visions spinner 2 VV 1600mah battery.. Nothing complex.

But I am not saying the flavor is totally different than what I expected, the flavor is similar to what I expected but way too too subtle even with as many flavor shots as they allow.. So I'd like a vendor that has more potent flavors

All tastes are subjective, you may not like what I like. I would suggest that you start with sample packs/ smaller bottles until you find something you do like.
I don't do fruit flavors very often, but when I do I go to http://highbrowvapor .com. The Orange De Sangre and the Peach Thymbra are particularly flavorful. And I always ask for 'Extra Flavor' at this site.
I won't say that you'll enjoy it, that's for you to decide. But these are rich, flavorful fruit vapes. And, I believe, far better than MBV, but that's just my opinion. If you are interested, I also get my Bakery items there...

You have a very good starter system right now. Prices are what they are, but, there are places that sell a lot with less profit and their are places that sell a few, but with higher prices. All-in-all, the internet is the cheapest.

One of my enjoyments is shopping. I have a lot of bookmarks. Also, with prices high, the market sells a LOT of clones. Some clones are exact matches and some are cheap knock-offs.

This forum is wonderful for learning and asking questions. I use the search bar a lot. I also listen for what others are talking about. Just a lot of reading and taking notes. When I first started, all the acronyms were tough, but I am getting better.

Read and ask.

For me, I have found that MBV juices need a loooong steep, at least 2-3 weeks, some (namely tobaccos) take even longer! Since you got so many flavor shots, I imagine your Hawksauce won't taste the way you like for about 3 weeks.

In a mid-range price point, I would suggest The Steam Co (Gentlemen's Reserve or Merlyn's Bow would be my picks), at a higher price range Five Pawns (Grandmaster is my favorite! or Queenside if you like fruity), and if you want an economical choice, ITC Vapes. Any of these should have some flavors you like, though ITC vapes will also need some steep lovin'.

Good Luck on your Quest! :)

I've heard of this Five Pawns juice being recommended a lot, I'm thinking of giving it a try..

Do you think it would pay to spend so much on juice with a cheaper Protank/Vision Spinner set-up like mine?
Or like Frenchfry is saying do you think flavors might be better enjoyed with a higher wattage mod set-up with drip tips..etc.?

The protank I am using I am not sure what ohms coils are in it, all I know is if I try to put the battery on anything past 3.8volts I get a burnt taste if I try to take a longer slower drag so I assume the ohms must be pretty low..

Most juice vendors mix as they are being ordered, therefore, the juice needs time to mix together to get the flavor intended. That is "steeping".

I buy juices in "blocks" and then they get into the rotation for use, and therefore, are steeping. I have a group of juices that I am vaping with now and I have two more groups following the path. As I finish this group, the next group will have steeped for a while couple of 3 weeks. I store the follow-on groups in different, dark spots (cabinets, drawers).

Its all a part of the hobby, I love it.

Haha yeah I just wish I had other juices around that have been sitting longer! One of the reason I got so many flavor shots is because I thought maybe I wouldn't need to steep it then.. I hope the flavor does improve but I can't wait 2-3 weeks to vape so all I got is this unsteeped stuff..
I'm definitely going to order a big sampler pack from one of these vendors so then I'll always have stuff sitting around that has seen some steeping but it's a tough decision of who to try.

I have been vaping Five Pawns Castle Long in a mini nautilus with an itaste vv battery and it tastes good. I have tried it in an Aspire CE5 tank with BVC coils and while it is okay it doesn't give me the flavor nuances that the mini nauti does.

I was looking at a similar set-up the other day.. I'm thinking of upgrading my set-up too. I was looking at the itaste VV because of the LCD and the price, and was thinking of upgrading my protank to either a nautilus or kanger aerotank.
Do you think I'd see a big difference from my current set-up? (Protank 1 with a Vision Spinner VV)

Thanks. :)

Maybe it is just something to work towards. But, flavor is usually better.

Also, some vendors don't mix all their juices to order. Especially, the common, most purchased, flavors. They mix batches in gallon jugs at the beginning of the month because it sells quicker. Getting to know the vendors helps. Anyway, stuff like that will get a headstart on steeping.

I am not against e-mailing vendors with questions. I think they appreciate the interest.

I don't really know as I'm really new to this myself. I will say that you may want to skip on the itaste vv as it is probably much like the battery you are using except it has the LCD. The battery life on the itaste vv is pretty short so much so that it is annoying. You may want to take a look at the itaste MVP or the istick as I am looking to upgrade already and I haven't had the itaste but for about 3 weeks.

Good luck on finding your set-up.

I don't think the juice at MBV is really that good at all. I think it gets a lot of hype from the price and the fact that it is vapable. I would suggest buying a mod and RDA. Get it from fast tech or a similar site, that way it's cheap. Probably cheaper than your set up right now. Dripping is far better than a tank. I wish I would have gone straight to that and not wasted my money.

To answer your question check out Nicoticket. They have great fruit flavors, also space jam, ruthless and vigilance are some other great companies.

When I started vaping sample packs were the way to go for me. Actually if I'm going thru a new vendor they still are. First place I found that I actually liked the juice was gooodlifevapor.com they still have sample packs for $20 (I believe) and you get 4 - 10mls.

Other than that Killer Juice is crazy cheap and actually pretty good too. They have .99 cent sales it's nuts. I haven't bought juice in awhile - I subscribe to Zamplebox every month for 24.99 and get like 5 - 15mls and 1 30ml and the juice is actually quality. Also get Vapebox but not loving their juices so far (only been 2 months.)

Umm what else? Idk been vaping for 2 years and I'll find a juice that I absolutely love and then 2 weeks later I'll hate it to the point I can't even vape it --- fast forward 2 months I try it again and bam I love it again. I have a juice problem.

I just set up my friend who smokes with the itaste vv 3.0 -- the above comment is very true. I went from a spinner to the itaste vv and while ya it works a bit better and the watts are nice it's not a "huge" upgrade. My friend didnt want the MVP cuz of course he's just coming from smokes and looked at that like I was nuts. BUT my next step from the itaste vv was the MVP 2.0 do yourself a favor and just skip the itaste vv. Unless of course you dont want a box mod either ---

Just FYI - Soon after the MVP as soon as the DNA30's came out I bought 1 loved it so much bought another one. The extra wattage is AMAZING. You can still get em pretty cheap elev8ape.com wetvapes.com -- just sayin for what you'll pay for the MVP its worth the extra $$$.

I would go Nautilaus all day...haven't used a new one or anything but for some reason I bought an Aerotank and I hate it. That's me though I'm not really a tank user unless (now) its a kayfun which sucks thru juice like no tomorrow.

Happy buying :)

So i started the same way, many did i am sure. Trying this and that to find some you like, some totally horrible. I can say after many vendors, products, tanks, etc, as someone who has been at it now for 9 months analog free (loving it too, cant stand the analog smell now and to think i used to smell like that lol). Anyway, a good step up on the cheap so to speak, i would recommend the eleaf istick that goes to 20w...I have rarely used anything more on anything i owned, and a nautilus mini or regular with the BVC coils. I originally hated the nautilus line with the old BDC coils because they always flooded on me in short time. New coils have been fantastic so far, much better than anything other than dripping that i have tried. Also the Kanger dual enclosed coils are nice too. As for dripping i am using a simple cloned Tobh and an Igo w6 i believe it is. Very simple RDA's that can be had cheap...101 vape is a good place i have used...add the dot com to it.

Your setup does make a difference in flavor. Nautilus is as close to RDA as i have found thus far. Running them at between 9 and 11w depending on juice. Juice wise I have tried Nicoticket (all great so far and not bad price wise for the quality), Mt baker of course initially (only have a couple left), Five Pawns (very good in my opinion), Bionic Vapor (good stuff), NLV (love several of theirs), Goodlife Vapor (very good), The Steam Company (very good), Cosmic Fog (Milk and Honey awesome), Beantown (Oh Face better that mothers milk in my opinion), Suicide Bunny (ok), and several others....you get the point. Anyway, taste is of course subjective, but i have found my go to vendors and flavors that i prefer from each. All the other i got from most were vapeable as they say, but some were just awesome. It will take some trial and error to figure out what ya like.

And like many others have said, I keep a rotation going. New juice has several weeks to steep. Keeps everything at the ready this way. Also, keeps the budget consistent. As one batch runs out, i re-order to let them steep. Another thing this benefits is that most vendors periodically run sales. I tend to stock up during those times, so i can say, i usually never have to pay the full normal price unless i'm trying a new vendor on a whim.

Try that Hawk Sauce again in a few weeks. It'll take longer to steep with so many shots.

I tried a bunch of different popular flavors to see what was available.

Nickoticket
Suicide Bunny
Steamjuice
Mad Murdock
Good Life Vapor
5 Pawns
High Brow

I vaped all my Pluid, Agent Orange, Grandmaster & HB Belgian Waffle

I sold or gave away the rest. They were good but I like MBV & my FW DIY

I'm a noob myself who's been almost exclusively vaping Mt Baker. I am on a budget. I've found the more flavor shots the longer you need to steep. Most of the MBV liquids I've tried are best at the 4 wk or longer point. I too was skeptical about steeping but am 100% convinced it is necessary now. There are vendors who pre steep but not a lot. My wife had a bottle of Five Pawns Castle Long Reserve... Awesome pre steeped juice, but over $1 per ml. At that price we are spending as much as when we smoked. But if price is no concern, I highly recommend that one.
