Looking for first RBA

Eyup folks.

Not been vaping long but getting a little tired of inconsistencies with the clearos. Tried protanks, minis, iclears and aspire bdc tanks and although the aspires were pretty good I feel like I need to move up so I can't start building coils, dripping etc.

Now, to my question.

What would be a good RBA and RDA for me to start with and be good enough to stick with for a while without having to upgrade a little down the line when nice got hang of it (money's a little tight at the minute). Wanting something's I can start small and make cotton or mesh and micro coils and then maybe move to dual coils and so on.

I'm not made of money so originals are pretty much out of the question from what I've seen. Been looking on FT (I'm in no rush and the lower cost is more appealing right now) and like the look of the Kraken and the Smok RSST, both with glass tank and the Igo for the RDA. Would these be good choices or would there be better options?

Although less than two years ago, just about everyone started with a genesis atomizer and what ever RDA they could afford, I don't recommend genesis attys for new re-builders, but rather RTA "tank" atomizers.

Start with one of the Kayfun KFL+, Kebo R91% or Taifun GT RTA clones. Single wick, excellent flavor, low cost. If you must have glass, there is a glass version of the very good sQuape RTA on FT, and although a dual coil, the Fogger V4 is an excellent RTA for the price... and one I recommend without reservation.

As to RDAs... the ubiquitous Youde original IGO W series is a excellent place to start. Youde brand quality is much better than many of the clone RDAs... where you get a look, but not quality of the original to go with it.

I actually love my genesis tank. I have the Hcigar Kracken clone set up in auto drip mode with a single, vertical, micro coil coming in at 1.3 ohms and a cotton wick. I haven't attempted stainless steel mesh, and considering the taste I'm getting from cotton, I don't think I will be attempting it. I always thought it was the mesh that made genesis tanks difficult?

My first rebuildable anything was a Nimbus clone. Liked the taste of dripping, but not the act of dripping, so a genesis tank in autodrip felt like the next best thing, and I'm quite happy.

While I'm still relatively inexperienced in clones, I do here good things about Hcigar and Ephro, so that's what I went for to see if I could rebuild. Next time, I'll be going for an authentic one.

for a dripper i would recommend an igo w . i have had several but still go back to this all the time. if you are use to clearo i would get a kayfun clone i have the hcigar and its my favorite currently. also if you dont feel like building the coils i would reccomend the kanger aerotank very supprised how well this works pretty well just not as good as kayfun

I started out on the igo-L and now have 3. I love them. Just received a Kayfun Lite clone from FT in the mail but haven't had a chance to try it. I read good things about them. I did not thinking dripping would make that much difference in a juice flavor. I could not believe how wrong I was. The same juices I had been enjoying tasted even better in a dripper. Good luck to you and happy dripping. Look forward to reading on what you decide and about your vaping journey. :)

rsst and igo would definitely be good choices for starting. they're both very reasonably priced, they both perform very well, .

I've used rsst over a year now. S steel mesh and cotton, I just enjoy the easy build, reliable performance.
Someone I know can fill the room with his rda which is cool but I'll stick with a tank for now and good flavor.
Saw the rsst for $19 at discount vapers, that's down quite a bit from where they started.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I had been looking at the Kayfun lite and Taifun GT clones but always got the impression they were more difficult to rebuild but after watching a few videos I now see that's not the case. The fact that it's a tank may make it a better choice for me as I have it in my pocket quite a bit at work etc whereas a genesis may leak from my understanding of it. Is that right?

My rsst doesn't leak at all. Ive got the mesh and steel rope dialed in perfectly.

Ah right. Good. I like the look of the genesis (kraken and RSST) but it was the idea of it leaking if it's on its side etc that was putting me off.

Also, I'm really liking the look of the Taifun GT (might get that and a genesis when I've more money) but one thing is confusing me.
The juice channels and the wicks seem to be about half way up the tank, so once the level goes below that does it have wicking problems? Surely you don't have to constantly make sure the tanks over half full so your not getting dry hits etc? I'm probably missing something simple that solves that problem so please forgive the noob questions.
