Looking for help with messed up Ego Battery

The other day I was vaping and my 650 mah ego battery showed red and died...no big deal..time to recharge.
Recharged overnight..charger showed green as if battery was charged.
Removed battery from charger..hit button..bright blue as if charged but when I put tank on... it lights blue and I get nothing.
Volt Meter tells me it is only putting out .3 volts.
Anybody got any Ideas ?

Charger seems to work fine on my other battery.

Probably a top connector problem on the battery. Check the connector's appearance for any corrosion of the metal. Clean any accumulated juice with some rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip applicator.

Another strong possibility is that the center pin has worked itself too low into the battery housing so that it can't make electrical contact with the charger. Use a small tool like a precision screwdriver or nail file to pry/tease it up a milimeter or two.

The charging light stays green when it doesn't detect a battery's center pin.

Just in case: to measure the battery voltage with a multimeter, you do need to press the fire button. If cleaning contacts and threads, playing with the variable voltage ring does not help, it could be a bad battery. The contact could also be corroded, in that case it will look dark. I restored mine by using a small eraser to clean it up, but you could also use ~400 grit sand paper if you feel like a more extreme solution is needed.

I have a mini protank 2 (ECG not Kanger) and a Gs H2 that I use switching between a couple of flavors...they are both running 1.8ohm coils and seem to be working fine on my other battery.
After this battery seemed to up and die I went over to the Vape Shop and bought another...should have tried it before I left the store. I got it home and it was doing the same thing as the dead one. Light on battery indicated it was charged up but not firing the coil. Had to take it back.
Starting to wonder if this is a common thing.
This is the second battery in about 2 and a half months.

It can be a common thing with cheaply make knockoffs. There was a report on here recently of a guy who went through 3 gas station blister pack eGos in two weeks that had the same problems you are seeing. On the other hand I bought four Joyetech branded eGo batteries when I started that all made it through my first year of using them non stop - and I can still charge them up and use them if I wanted to.

Hmm I wish now that I had not changed the coil and tossed...could have checked for a short in coil.
If it was a short in one of the coils, thats going to suck putting a 15 dollar battery at the mercy of a $2.99 coil once every week or two since I have a feeling the coils have just as much quality control or even less than the batteries.

Is there anyway of trying to reset the battery that anyone knows of ?

The first battery that died was a name brand with logo ( maybe fluke) second battery that died actually lasted longer and was a knock-off.
I have just tested a wack of coils some Kanger some knock-off...all supposed to be 1.8 ohm. Not one of them hit 1.8...all 2 - 2.5
Maybe Im just getting fussier and its time to go to a Mod and do my own friggin coils so I know what Im getting.
I will tear battery apart later today just to have a look for any busted wires or bad solder joints.
Thanks everyone for there input.

A decent mod will definitely last a lot longer (especially ones that run on changeable batteries) and you can also still use your current tanks, but rebuilding is definitely the best vape you can get and it's really not that hard.

Be careful when taking apart a battery, especially not to short wires as you could bypass the protection and start a very toxic and dangerous lithium-ion fire. Also put electrical tape on any exposed wires before disposing of it and wash your hands thoroughly.
