vaporbeast said send in the cap for inspection. I pay postage both ways. I think I will just look into something else. Probably going to just get a hanna modz dna 30 clone for about 50 bucks & keep my broken mechanical for a backup.

My favorite mod is the astro clone, have used several high end devices and rather stick with this $20 clone. hits hard, great switch, small size, smooth threads etc... The high end stuff i tried were chiyou, chi megan, 4Nine, 2six. All nice but all of them have needed repairs/ still have issues they are having a hard time figuring out. My astro just keeps trucking right along 
Even if it died, the full replacment would be cheaper then a high end mod repair.
Just my thoughts, im sure ill get some haters but I like my little clone. Now if you want to pony up the money grab the auth astro

If any mod ever gets uncomfortably hot at the switch you should STOP using it immediately, by what you said in the original post you said it was actually burning hot. I wouldn't use that even as a backup until you sort the issue out.
I thought the hanna DNA 30 got up to 60 watts. everything I am reading is 30. Was I mistaken?
Its a DNA 30 so its 30w max the DNA 20 is 20w max, if you want higher watt capabilities try other chipsets
