Mech mod suggestions?

So I'm looking for a reasonably priced mechanical mod...

I've browsed the forums, and my head is spinning!

I'm looking for something moderately priced....$50-100 tops.

Looking for an 18650, and one issue I had with a previous device is, it fired when I forgot to lock it, and set it down sitting up! The thing got unbelievably hot, burned my thumb and finger picking it up, and had to open it up while it was blazingly hot, to remove the battery!

So..definitely need a device that will NOT fire if accidentally left standing up, even if not locked!

Just looking for a solid performing, dependable device! I'll be using a kayfun and Sillare on it.

try a smoktech magneto or a K101. They're both pretty cheap and good mods and they're both telescopic so they can fit 18650,, 18350 or 18500 batteries. They're both lockable also

I so get you on this, a mech you can sit down without having to fuss with that locking ring every time. I got an Hcigar Nemesis clone in your price range, and put magnets in the switch, and it stands on it's button without firing now, but the button was kinda crunchy, so I made a new rice pin out of nylon weedeater cord and that worked great.

My K100 has such a stiff button that it does not fire even if I do not set the locking ring. Downside is the pressure to press the button is pretty darn hard on my arthritic hands.

+1 for the Nemesis clone. With a $100 budget, you could have the mod, upgrades, and enough left over for something extra for yourself

I love the 49 but I really don't understand how you attach an atty to it. Can you put a regular 510 dripper on it or only ones with a special connector?

The mech I am looking long and hard at right now but have not seen much on is the new all mechanical Silver Bullet-M. I think the side top button would be easy on my hands.

There are so many mechs out there and they are all good if you ask me. I ended up with a King II clone, but you may like something different. The best thing to do is go to one of your local B&M's and take a look. Make sure you touch it, feel it and play with it. They are all slightly different and you need to see which one suits you best. If you think the local B&M is charging too much, then just order the same device online when you get home. But I can tell you that they are almost all identical when it comes to performance.

The 4nine uses a hybrid adapter. So you screw the adapter in first to your atty and the post goes thru the top cap (top cap is recessed into the tube). Screw the atty with the adapter into the tube and then put the battery in. You then make any battery rattle adjustments and throw adjustments on the bottom cap.

That's the way all the 4nines are, even the clones. The adapter basically eliminates the center pin and hides the top cap. So it gives you the hybrid look and you don't see the top cap when it's all together. But you can get the hybrid adapter for other mods as well, I know the nemesis is one of those.

Based on your description, sounds to me like what you really want is a regulated mod and not a mechanical mod.

I had a k101 last me a good year before i finally dropped it just right to warp the 510 connection. definitely worth the modest price tag IMHO. Currently using an iseason, and have had no problems at all with it. Very sturdy.

Smoktech telescope randomly stopped working for no discernable reason, though, which is stupid because that's why I bought a mechanical. I had to return the tesla m5 because it wouldn't fire an 18500 with a kick, and there is no adjustability for button top 18650s, nevermind a short stop, so I would avoid those.
