Hey everyone, I'm completely new to all of this so excuse any mixed/wrong terminology. I've been researching into E-Cigs for the past couple nights and I'm really close to ordering a starter kit and trying it out, and I was just wanting to see if I can get some feedback on some of the different brands and styles that are good for beginners but also something that I will be satisfied with on down the road. Also I'm actually a dipper, not a smoker, I smoked for 7 years up until about 10 months ago when I found out I was having a baby and didn't want to have to worry about second hand smoke, smoking in the car etc... so I started dipping, and I don't really like it, and since dip contains more nicotine I'm afraid it will take a while to make the transition and get used to the drop in nicotine levels, so I'm going to need something with affordable carts and liquid, preferably carts that contain a fair amount of liquid so I don't have to change as often. I'd also like something with a good battery life since I work 8 hours a day without access to an outlet and I can't be running to my car to charge it (I work at a coal mine).

Sorry if this is lengthy and I'm sure you guys get all kinds of questions like this, but even after researching, browsing, searching, it seems like every brand I've looked at has some ups and some downs, and what I'm looking is something pretty good all around.

The two that I've determined I like so far are the M401 and the Blu. Thanks for reading and any input is appreciated.

You should look into the KR808D-1 model. It is a two piece, the atomizer and cartridge are combined (cartomizer). I have found that a cartomizer will last for 4 hours or longer (no having to mess with cartridges) and the batteries last a good long time too, especially the long ones. You can also refill the cartomizers! No, they won't last forever, as the atomizer does quit working, but you can refill them until they stop working. You should check out these websites and do a search on this forum for more info:

Thanks a lot, just curious, about how long does the cartomizer last compared to the average atomizer if I chose to refill the cartridges myself (which I was planning on doing anyways)?

Well, as with atomizers, the life span of the cartomizer varies. From what I have read you can refill them between 5-10 times, some last longer than that. I haven't refilled one that many times yet. BUT you get five cartomizers in a pack and I have seen them priced between 7.95 a pack and 12.50 a pack. Atomizers usually go for 7 to 11 dollars for one, and they can either last for months or go out in a week or two. I guess it is just trial and error.

Perhaps, under your circumstances, you might want to look into smoking alternatives for nicotine delivery. There is a sub-forum on here on ECF in which various things are discussed including snus, nasal snuff, pipe tobacco, etc. If you are not smoking analogs, it may be best to stay away from e-cigs and find your nicotine elsewhere. No sense in starting to inhale a foreign substance if you do not have to. In particular, look for posts by Tropical Bob. He is a nicotine 'addict' and has used multiple smokeless nicotine sources to satisfy his nicotine needs.
