hi people new menber here . names ben and i need some advice
i just started vaping a week ago and it makes me feel nauseous and gives me a headace and hot flashes. i dont have nicotine in the e liquid and i bought from a apparent trusted seller . it even says on the bottle 50/50 mix 0% nic . im a buy a bottle from a different seller and see if it still make me feel like that . any suggestions to the issue ? . i want to stop smoking the tobacco and vape nic but if base is making me feel like this i dont know if i should keep trying because if no nic makes me feel like that then with mic might be worse . vaping sure tastes better so id like to make the swap.. im a 38 yr old guy and im useing a smok NORD 5 80W Pod with a 0.23ohm coil 20-45w and im using it at 20w mouth to long draws
sorry if im posting in the wrong section and thanks for any replys

    Welcome to ecf @bennie7767

How much did you smoke before you started vaping?

How often are you taking draws from your vape? If you juice is zero nic, I might say you could be chain vaping. How often are you filling your tank and charging your battery? I agree that those symptoms do correlate with high nicotine content.

well i smoke about 20 plus smokes a day but have reduced that to around 15 so far over the past few months . and have smoked for around 20 years.
about 10ml ish of juce a day but even just a few puffes like 6 lung hits in a row over 5 miniutes will make me feel like that . i used in total 60ml in the week
i was chain vapping i guess . im not really sure whats considered too much
its 2000mlh battery and will last a full day
i have not tried any e liquid with nicotine in it as here in australia we need a prescriptions to legally order e liquid that contains nicotine although you can still order with out just not ment to
the symptoms do feel exacly like to much nicotine but the place i got it from dont offer nicotine period and i dont see them adding it and not charging or telling people its been added to the juice
i was going to ask them in a email but id imagine they would say no regardless so havent bothered reaching out to them

You cannot vape and smoke. You are overdoing it with nicotine. Do one or the other, preferrably just vape.

How long do these symptoms last? I'm not trying to be funny or anything, but could be a bit of hyperventalation? The set up you have is meant to produce lots of clouds. I know ecigs can effect everyone differently for different reasons. A lot of people first trying them will say they get a euphoric sensation, where others will say they tend to cough a lot; it's all over the place.

I don't know. It'll probably wear off as you get used to it. Be sure to drink a lot of water, it should help.

    Welcome on ECF !

Yeah in the beginning it's a little wierd... ! The one way is to cut it "cold turkey"... or the other way little by little at the time... ! Either way you have to give on yourself a little bit of "time - space"... so you can adapt the way (vaping) ! Plus i think it's better to try a little more light style of vaping, with a little smaller setup and less Watts... !

Just my opinion, have a good one !

Hi @bennie7767 and welcome to ECF. :)

You've already been given some excellent advice, the only thing I would add is, you are likely feeling that way due to a lack of nicotine (as Letitia mentioned). I would get a prescription for nicotine.

    Good luck!!!

I'm pretty sure he's vaping zero nic.

    Totally my mistake.

I agree. Drop the smokes and start vaping. It was rough for a few days for me (in the beginning) but I stuck with it! Now I'd never go back to cigarettes, OMG, it's so filthy and it's so much more harsh.

Another consideration, other than nicotine withdrawal, is a PG or VG allergy. If nicotine doesn't help, start by trying either 100% of PG or VG. You will probably have to thin the VG with a few drops of distilled water. If cutting out one of these doesn't help, then try cutting out the other. Do you have food allergies?

Welcome to ECF, Ben. I hope some experimentation will help you figure it out so you can successfully stop smoking. I see some good suggestions here, except for the dictate that you can't vape and smoke. It took me about six weeks of dual use, both vaping and smoking, before I felt confident that I had the equipment and liquid that worked reliably so that I could choose a cigarette quit day.

I can only tell you what I would do, without any guarantees, but before getting a nic prescription I would try switching to a liquid that contains nic. There used to be a consensus that if you were transitioning from "lite" cigarettes to vaping, 18 mg. would be the satisfying level. I found that to be true, giving me the nic boost I needed, until a few weeks after my last cigarette, at which time 18 was suddenly too much, and I reduced to 12 mg., where I have stayed for 10 years, without ever the desire for another cigarette.

I wish you the best of luck.

symptoms last about 45mins after i stop using it.

i did consider it might be due to lack of oxygen and or maybe making my self hyperventilate but woud think that just be a light headed feeling . not a nauseous feeling.

im not trying to quit the tobbacco cold turky but do need to quit sooner the better.

i was looking at a mouth to long vap pod . might have to buy one of them instead of the one i am using .

i can still do lose mtl draws on the mod im using if i close the air flow all the way and put it on 10-15 watts even if thats not the recomended wattage for the coils.

is there a probalem underpowering the coil if it is still producing allot of vapor ?

you can have allergy to PG or VG ?. ok i will do some research on that and im not allergic to food but have had a reaction to peanuts as a child but i eat nuts now days with no reactions .
on saying that i did order the tobbacco flower starter pack and it ended up having a nutmeg tase . maybe its possable thats the issue . its only flavoring so i wouldnt of thought hat matter.

i was going to order more this week maybe a bubblegum flovor to see if it was just the juice.

only way i can get 100% vg or 100% pg is to buy unflavored base for mixing your own. im thinking i will now have to do that. just for testing reasons

my thought was im going to buy juice with 0% nic then add my own as that be the most cost effective way to vap in the long run

i will keep experimenting with this ether untill my body gets use to it or i find out its due to something pacific .

i will just have to take my time and do it slowly i guess

Not sure about the current situation in Aus but at one time people there were able to order concentrated nic from China. It came labelled as glycerine or something and you just had to cross your fingers and hope Customs didn't figure it out. If that's still possible it might be better than a prescription. Think they said you couldn't stay on a prescription for very long and some people need nic for a long time. There are quite a few Aussies on ECF but I don't remember their names.

Another option would be to vape zero nic juice and get your nic some other way, like lozenges or patches, if they are available there. That way you would get both your nic and the hand to mouth substitute. Lozenges are an expensive way of getting nic though, and they give me terrible hiccups.

I have to say, just vaping zero nic might not help much with the quitting. It took me a year of vaping and cutting down on the smokes before I managed to quit and that was with high nic juice.

Of course you still have to get past your nausea problem. I don't have any suggestions past the ones you already got here.

    Good luck

well i can just order with out a prescription as the people selling are not requesting proof .
its more just dumb goverment people wanting money at least thats what i think lol or they dont want people quiting tobacco products . they are trying to charge $90 for a 12 months prescription...i say gtf out of here with that and let people try quitting with out charging to much for a bit of paper.

i intend on ordering some with nic tomorrow and probably some un mixed base of 100% vg and one of pg . at the end of the day it wont go to waste as i will just mix my own and add a flavor after finding out if i have allergyto one or the other.

i dont see how custons would detect it anyway if only small orders and if they did im sure they would just want proof of prescription before release it and at that point i will fork out the cash .or it will go in the bin on there end
i will find out in a week.

i have tried patches, gun and spays that contain nic but never had any luck with them in the past and the hand to mouth action is more enjoyable on a psychological level witch i do require

im starting to over complicate things so im going to try them few steps 1st and see how it goes over the next month

Welcome to ECF - I couldn't think of a solution but I've read through all the suggestions and they seem worth a try.

Your own answer about ordering nic liquid seems a good one and then if you get asked to show a prescription getting one seems a good way to go.

Good luck and I hope this works out for you!
