Hi all.

I imagine i am far from being the first to ask this but since it's a new year and bew brands might be available, it's worth asking anyway.

I am new to e-cigs or vaping and decided to venture in it as i must quit smoking analogs and haven't been able to with pills or the patch alone.

I smoked newport 100's and meant to use the patch and a 0 nicotine e-cig but i've had no luck finding a decent one. Not sure if i can name brands but i tried White Cloud's menthol and it had no taste, even while going for one with some nicotine. I tried another of their flavors but it tastes like mint and is not what i want.

As i now understand it, the nicotine level will affect the flavor. If no nicotine means no flavor then i guess i am out of luck. But i still want to ask if by chance anyone has found a no nicotine menthol option that does not taste like mint. Any menthol smoker knows the 2 are not the same.

I live in Puerto Rico so i might be limited as to what i can find locally and what online store will ship to here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Wish I could help, but I don't know much about menthol, period. Other than I don't like it. If you are open to DIY, you might pose the question there, especially since you are looking for 0 mg vaping.... It should be easy to get VG/PG where you are (hopefully) and then you are only left with the issue of trying to work on getting the flavoring where you want it. It would also be cheaper than trying a ton of different vendors, I know there was recent discussion of the various menthol flavorings out there, you might also benefit from an additive that increases throat hit (I forget the name of the additive, but the DIY experts will know, I actively avoid throat hit) and that might be just the trick to help you "feel" your no nic vape. I am going to bet that you may be able to find flavorings and etc. near you and have them shipped. They're pretty ubiquitous.

If you feel up to the task, if not I am sure someone will be along with suggestions....

Welcome to ECF, I hope things work out for you.

Not really a fan of cigalikes, but I'm assuming that's what you're asking about and it is what I started vaping with.

I don't know if they ship to your location, but I suggest Volt Smokeless Image. They cater to beginning vapors.

I smoked Marlboro Menthol Lights and Newports. My first e-liquid flavor was SI's Volt Ice Menthol. Probably the best menthol flavor that I've come across, and I tried several. They do offer 0mg nicotine Ice Menthol. Either 30ml bottles and blank cartos or prefilled carto's Ice Menthol - Cartomizers (5pk)

Their juice is pretty inexpensive, too. The carto's are "808" threaded if you need to know.

*Personally, I'd recommend ANYTHING better than a cigalike for the most likely success. However, since you plan to dual use the cigalike and the nic patch its possible it might work for you. Good Starter Setups for a Beginner Vaper

Nicotine does sometimes add a "peppery" taste to a flavored e-liquid. You won't get that with 0 nic, just the flavor you're after.

Good luck. :)

I was a menthol smoker for more years than I care to name and understand your frustrations. When I first began vaping, I was pretty much where you are. I didn't want mint, icy, any of that. I wanted something that tasted like my menthol cigarettes. I found the perfect one for me in Menthol Slims from My Freedom Smokes. They ship to PR.

I now DIY and make something that is better to me than anything I ever purchased. Since you are looking for Nicotine free, your options should be pretty broad if you want to DIY. You need PG, VG, and flavoring. You can buy PG and VG in pharmacies and online. Most will ship to PR but I don't know the shipping costs. You can probably pick up PG and VG locally. You can make menthol solution by dissolving menthol crystals in PG to make a 10% solution. A bottle of the solution will last you a long, long time as a little goes a long way. The higher the PG, the more flavor you will get so maybe a 50/50 PG/VG solution would suit you. A very satisfying menthol e-liquid, for me, was 6% menthol solution, 1% Koolada, and 2% Ethyl Maltol.

Good luck!

If no nicotine means no flavor then i guess i am out of luck

Then you're not out of luck, the more nicotine the more "diluted" the taste is and the more throat hit you get (harsher hits shall i add) i stick with 3-6 mg on my setup but i've used 12-15mg nicotine with no issue in a mtl setup. It's more about the quality of the liquid some might taste horrid at higher nic levels and some taste just fine.

PS: Welcome to ecf :)

Welcome and glad you joined.
When I first started, I liked the Atoms e-liquid tobaccos, they might be worth a try.
Some folks claim that nicotine = flavor and other folks claim that the best nic is the brand that has no flavor. When you purchase e-liquid with nic, you take your chances and hope that the blender(s) are compatible with your taste.
Might like to check out the with and without tobacco options:
Atmos Tobacco and Menthol
Atmos Menthol

I make my own juice and usually add a drop or two of menthol to my eliquids. I am not a menthol user per say but a drop or two in liquid helps with the throat hit in my tobacco juice. You can buy menthol drops from just about any flavor supplier and add it to your premade juice to get to wherever you like it. I also use the crystals to make my own menthol.

Check out Black Note e-liquid. They make NET liquids. I bought a sampler from them and it had their menthol flavor, tasted just like a Newport. Gave the bottle to a friend and it’s the only liquid he uses. They have free shipping and a money back guarantee. And if you don’t like it, they will give you a refund. I’ve done it twice.
