Hi everyone ! I'm seriously looking into an e cig with the Apollo extreme as my preference . I'm concerned about the price of the refill cartridges , so was looking into e liquid and refilling the cartomizers myself . Does anybody know if you can refill the Apollo extreme cartomizers and how long they will last . Sorry if this is a real noob question but I'm not really sure how it all works . Many thanks :)

That should be the link to it

I'm gonna have a look at that other one now thanks

Hi Gooseneruk, I just checked out the kit your looking at. IMHO it's junk, sorry. First on the site they said it's good for people who were heavy smokers and the carts last a long time. They are flat out lying. If your interested in a mini style kit look at the 510 at liberty-flights their UK based, have good products. If your a heavy smoker please consider the eGo.

Oh and WELCOME to the forum. This is a great place to get info.

Almost all of us have purchased an eGo after trying a mini (cigarette sized). Small batteries are a pain and you will find yourself going back and forth to the the charger all day long. An hour and half is about all you get from a small battery. The eGo standard 650mah battery will give you 5-6 hours vaping time and the 1000mah eGo-T will get you 8-10 hours on a charge. Size is not really an issue since almost all of the batteries are too heavy to keep the ecig in your lips to free your hand for work. If they are not, then charge life will be dismal. Any eGo batt with a carto will fit in a pants or coat pocket and will quickly feel like the right size for an ecig.

The eGo is a good place to start. Boge 510 LR 2.0 ohm cartomizers are wildly popular and you can fill them really easily. Check out the video below for a good filling method. Cartos are so similar that the video covers most all of them.

Boge low resistance carts are a great way to go. Easy to refill with e-liquid and reviewed nicely! Check out MadVaps.com for liquid. I just bought a bunch of liquid from them! If you go with a standard 510 reliable starter kit vaporbeast.com sells for 29 bucks. It is generic packaging but perform great! I bought the next coolest thing ever, the Switchback from VaporBeast.com. v2 cigs is another good company but the carts can be a little more expensive than filling. Once you start vamping more and more, a bigger device that holds more juice, and a battery that last longer quickly seems to make more sense.

I really appreciate this everyone ! I didn't realise how much of a headache it would be buying one of these . I want to make sure I get the best one though !

A reputable ECF listed vendor- very important when buying PV gear IMHO.

With the eGo, you decide if you want a 2 or 3 piece unit. Attys with cartridges are 3 and the cartomizer makes it a 2 piece. IMHO the eGo with a Boge 2.0 ohm cartomizer would be an excellent start.

Right ! I've got a riva 510 in my cart with 3x 5ml e liquid . It comes with 10 blank cartridges , can some one tell me how long the cartridges an e liquid will last I probably smoke about 30 cogs a day now.

Not Long, You have to refill those with your own juice. Get about 30 mls of juice in different flavors to start.

A carto will generally last about a week but be forewarned new vapers usually mess some up at the start. It's VERY important to first fill them completely otherwise you get a burnt taste and/or burn them out. You're prolly going to vape a minimum of 5 ml per week and maybe more at first.
You may be better off buying the E-Power- free 30 ml juice and free shipping and they sell 15 carto packs for $21.00 with a free syringe and drip tip

Not sure about UK vendors for juice, you can check the Forum Suppliers as I know there are some that are based in the UK (less shipping & customs issues).

Don't just limit yourself to tobacco flavors. Go for some of the other flavors of juice as well. Best bet is to get a few sample packs and/or small 3ml-5ml bottles till you start to find a few that you like.

Refilling the cartos is pretty easy. Sounds like more of a hassle than it is. After you do it once or twice it'll be second nature.

Listen to Beans and don't waste your money. Since you are in the UK, I would suggest you look at Liberty Flights Riva 510. You will get 5 times more battery life, warmer vapor, less hassle and better throat hit. Get some blank cartomizers and some eliquid and save yourself money and frustration which is what you would have with the Apollo. Here's LF's site:

Right thanks everyone , all ordered now , I got the the riva 510 starter kit with 5 extra blank cartridges and 60 ml of malbaro e liquid ! Every excited now , no more mess from roll ups lol !

Do another small order and get some boge 2.0 cartomizers and a couple drip tips to make it easier to top off cartomizers. Cartridges are very messy.

After you receive your order, make sure to review your purchases. In the US, we get a 49 cent credit for each review.

...+1 to what the Swedish fish lady sez...understand carts(cartridges) and cartos(cartomizers) are completely different animals...carts, plug into an atty(atomizers) and are the most finicky and the most annoying PITA way to vape...together with the batt, they constitute a 3 piece system...MUCH MORE PREFERRED is the carto system, where the cart and atty is combined into one unit, making it a 2 piece system...a carto holds 3+ times as much juice and works ever so much better than the cart/atty set up...............
