So I have mild experience with some hand-me-down GreenSmoke batts and blank cartos, but I still smoke. I am currently deployed and cigs here are about $2.36 USD a pack. Despite the cheap tobacco prices, I still feel like I could committ to a full vape routine if I had a proper setup.

My question is this: what is a relatively cheap and easy method of starting up?

Through research I found this: Ego-C Twist w/Kanger T3S Package Kit $52.99 - VividSmoke.com

Would the above kit + some juice/extra coil heads be a good place to start?

I need something easibly maintained as getting supplies here will take a minimum of 7-9 days.

YES----absolutely! Or something similar. Get a couple of spare Twists as well so you always have a fully charged battery, and a bunch of flavors that you like. Not sure if the kit you pointed out is a great deal or not. Others will be able to point out good deals on quality equipment and supplies.

All I EVER did was this: I started with a relatively stronger nic content in some flavors that I knew I liked. Whenever I felt the urge, I just vaped more heavily, until I had no further urge to vape. The urge for a cigarette (and to vape for that matter) was effectively killed. I am now going on 15 months of 0 cigarettes, and I am down to alternating between 0 and 6 mg of nic. In fact, I only vape now because I enjoy the flavors so much.

I still can't quite get over how damn easy it was to quit. You know the old saying........"If I can do it, you certainly can!" (And I used to love smoking, btw.). I still can't understand completely, that if one can satisfy the nicotine monkey by vaping hundreds of flavors without the 4,000 + chemicals in burning tobacco and tar, how can anyone continue on cigarettes? Why, why, why???? I also found it very easy to gradually reduce the nicotine content as well.

You certainly can do this. Good luck and all the best..........:vapor:

A Twist or other variable volt, ego kit should be much better then Greensmoke batteries. I def needed variable volts when I quit smoking. The ability to turn up the power during stronger cravings was tremendously helpful to me. You can, however, find some better pricing around for something similar. Also, I recommend getting two kits as the kit you posted only comes with one battery. Back up is essential. You will need to vape one if the other is charging. Here are a couple of options:

Battery, Tank and Charger Custom Starter Kit! | Origin Vape - This is a great deal, and you get to choose from several options. Get two variable volt, twist batteries and for the toppers I recommend getting the Mini Protank II, as it's glass. Some e-liquids can react with plastic over time. If you google the vendor's name, I think there may also be a coupon code floating around for them.

Innokin iTaste VV (V3) Express kit - 101 Vape - This is only a battery and a charger, but I've had a great experience with this vendor, and they offer competitive pricing. The iTaste VVv3 has pretty much all the features of any other Advance Personal Vaporizer, but packed into a battery the size of an ego. It has variable volts, variable watts, ohm checking (to check your coil's resistance) and acts as a passthrough (vape while it's charging). This was my first upgrade from the ego starter kit I started with, and the vape was much better with this then with my variable volt egos. Variable watts is basically the same thing as variable volts. You can adjust the power to your preferences. However, with variable watts, the device itself "remembers" how hot you like your vape, and will adjust the power itself when you change your coil and the resistance is different from the last. It's like driving a car. With variable volts, you are driving with stick shift, where you change the gears yourself. With variable watts, it's like driving an automatic. It changes the gears for you. This will be pricier then the other kits, as I still recommend two.

The cheap and easy method would take a bit longer to get but if you are on a budget Fasttech.com has some unbeatable prices as far as I am concerned. I'm sure others will have even more suggestions. I hope you do find something and give it a good try. You won't regret it.

Good luck to you and I hope to be reading future posts about your vaping adventure. :)

That's not too bad for a first kit, but the problem with that kit is it only comes with 1 battery.

I would recommend the following if you are looking to upgrade - http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

I work in Saudi on a rotation so I know what its like as far getting things. I have to bring most of what I need with me. I would suggest a MVP2 and a carto tank. No batteries to lose, long battery life and vv/vw. Cartotank just because they are simple and last a long time if taken care of. Ibtanked is what i use they have thick glass and use simple orings for seals. It doesnt get much simpler than that.

Wow, thanks for the recommendations. I will definitely look for something with a second battery.

Another thing I am concerned about is leaking. I intend on keeping the device in my pocket most of the day. What tanks should I consider to combat leaking?

This is harder to answer. To be honest, I have yet to come across a clearomizer that didn't leak. You can try cartomizers, which are essentially the same thing as the cartridges from your Greensmoke kit. Only, you can get them in a larger size for the larger batteries, and with a larger battery powering them, they are much better. Cartotanks also leaked less for me, but you need to make sure you're getting a quality tank. IBTanked is great, with nice, tight fitting, o-ring seals that keep the carto in place nicely. Slightly more of a learning curve involved, but it isn't hard. You just fill a prepunched carto with juice (Smok or Boge are the most common. Stainless steel, with two holes laser cut in them), insert it partway into a cartotank with a carto filling tool (basically and long, thin drip tip), fill the tank with liquid, insert the carto all the way in and stick a drip tip on the top of it. IBTanked will walk you through buying everything you need in the "Complete Tank" section.

I would suggest sticking with clearos for a bit. Carto tanks can take a bit to get used to. Get an EVOD (leaks minimally) or something similar that you can easily change the coils. It will get you used to the gear, and the investment is minimal. Doesn't really leak that much. I have been very lucky with the EVOD toppers.

You are likely to get a million different answers, though. I always advocate that new vapers start with something relatively simple and easy to understand, because you do not need any added stress as you transition from being a non smoker.

Good Luck and THANK YOU for your service!
