I don't know if you mentioned, but is size a factor?

When I first started I assumed I wouldn't like a big bulky tube, so I bought a 510-T. But 510's are notoriously short on battery life.

An ego/twist/spinner is usually the best to start with. I loved mine until I moved up to fancier gadgets.

As for tanks, the protank gets a lot of love and a lot of hate. I personally love my protank 2 and my aerotank. I haven't broken one yet, but I like knowing that all of the parts are replaceable.

The Evod's, ProTanks, Iclear16/30's... Pretty much anything that has the "eGo/510" threading will work on the spinner. Have you read the other posts above? The MVP is an exceptional battery like the poster says, I have 2 myself... if your interested in the "Box-Style" battery. That has the same 510/ego threading on top so the EVOD/PT (ProTank) and the likes will also fit.
The Majestic kit is also a handsome looking kit!
These clearomizers come with a drip-tip already installed, The EVOD and PT1 are permanently attached. Get extra replacement atomizer heads, some juice and you would be good to go!

where do you get the replacement atomizer heads?

if i go with the mvp can i use different tanks like the unitank or the evod?

Absolutely! and (drum-roll please...) it has an Ohm checker to check the resistance of your coil, Huge battery life, variable voltage and wattage (VW) and the benefit of VW is it's basically set it and forget it. You can use it while it's charging! (That's called Pass-Thru Vaping) and you can use almost any tank, atomizer, clearomizer under the sun as long as it's threading is 510 and/or eGo. You could probably get 2 days or more on a charge!
It has a cell phone charger included so you could power your dying cell phone with the MVP.
But, it is square and is a little on the heavy side. Not enough so to make it a hassle to use though... just feels solid.

It is the threading that matters. If the threading is the same (510), you can use them together. You should be able to find the replacement coils on the same website, you would just need to search it.

Remember, keep some of your budget for a back-up battery and more than one tank/clearo/whatever you get at least. I had to learn this the hard way. Left with no back-up and a dead battery. It is the quickest way to the gas station for more cigarettes.

You don't even need to get two expensive batteries; just something with the same threading so you have something if you need it. Unless the battery you choose has a meter on it, they just die and it takes hours to charge back up.

Depends on what you want as far as size and shape goes really.

The iTaste MVP 2.0 is a great little box mod. Lots of battery power, very adjustable, easy to work with and a good price. Only downside is it's size. It's a box, about the same size as a pack of cigarettes with a tank on top. There is also the iTaste VTR which is like a step above the MVP.

Vamo V5 is good. Pretty large though, about the size of a lightsaber.

And the Joyetech EVIC is another nice little mod for about $100.

Or, for about $150 you could get a Lavatube 2.5.

You can buy the replacement heads from the same website you get your clearo from. The kanger EVOD heads will fit the ProTank/ProTank II tanks as well, both the mini and full size. They will not fit in the PT3's though.

***Hint***
If you go with the EVOD or ProTank (1 or 2) don't throw the heads away when they gunk up or burn out... they are extremely easy to rebuild. Not something you will want to tackle now, but you may want to look into that down the road when you gain experience.

Sorry, didnt know that the MVP was a pass-thru

Still a good suggestion. We always need to keep a back-up of everything, just in case... and ideally, a back-up of your back-up! We aren't always near a power source.

Well said!

Actually, the lava tube isn't really all that big! Looks can be deceiving, especially when it comes to vaping devices!

Don't feel pressured to get it just because of the recommendations... I think it's an excellent device, bar-none! but you're the one who has to use it.
I love mine, and my petite 5-foot-2 wife loves hers, even though she didn't want me to get it for her. She thought it looked too big but it really isn't all that big. Slightly smaller than a cigarette pack.
There is also the Innokin iTaste VV/VW V3 if you're uncomfortable with the MVP... it has all the features that the MVP has except it won't charge a cell phone (Big Whoop!) and it's a much smaller battery (800Mah?) so it probably won't last all day, but it can be used as a Pass-Thru when you're near a USB at your computer or car!

Ahhh... we're getting closer! So, you're really not a fan of the box style, not a fan of chrome... is size an issue in a tube style? I'm guessing it just may be since the Lava Tube looked too big.

lol i guess i am kind of picky. ya as long as it is not to huge. i was just watching some vids of the lava and it looked pretty big. a guy on my facebook uses a nemesis clone and it looks cool.

splwj47,
Congrats on the commitment to quit and welcome to the forum. I started vaping about a year ago and was also overwhelmed when I started. I started with the ego twist batteries and some carto-tanks. I found that with the ego batteries I had to have a minimum of 2 and they required a lot of charging. I believe the were 900mah. Needless to say I ordered an MVP V1 shortly after. I didn't think I'd like the box style but absolutely loved the thing. Battery would last me 2-3 days of heavy vaping. If you are looking at clearos I you really can't go wrong with the protank2. Super easy to use and change out the coils. I too wanted to find a tobacco flavored juice but unfortunately many taste nothing like a real cig. I'd recommend trying some sample packs from different vendors.

Yeah, the Nemi is a beautiful device! But... The Nemesis is a mechanical mod, probably not where you want to go just yet. They require some knowledge about battery safety, ohm's law and such, you don't need an electrical engineering degree to use one, but they don't play nice with others if there is a problem somewhere. In the electronic regulated models, there is plenty of safety stops put in to make them as safe as possible and they practically do all the thinking for you, and shut down if there is a short in your atty or the voltage drops too low in your battery to protect you... the mechs don't and can cause some damage or injuries when things go wrong. There is plenty of reading on those when you get comfortable with the hobby.
