Non-Nico Addict Vaping

I an totally new to all this and have a less than normal situation. My best friend used to be a heavy smoker and is now vaping but wants someone to vape with. He is starting to get into customizing and stuff like that. I am not wanting to go that far but I would like to find a vape unit that would suit my needs. I took a hit from his one time and it burned my throat and having never smoked before I did not like the sensation. I have researched a lot and read that pure VG is smoother and doesn't have as bad a throat hit but that was also because his had nicotine in it. I basically want to vape with him and get good taste and lots of vape to look the part but don't want to go overboard. I was researching the eGo x6 battery with a x9 protank for $30 and it looked like a good package. I also looked at an inno blister pack from mount baker vapor for $20 and it comes with some juice of my choice. I don't know what to get but I want something that will last and be comfortable to use. I like the design of the x6 but I want to make sure I am not getting too far ahead of myself and getting too much vaping power.

I picked up a kit from my local shop of a Kangar evod spinner (variable voltage) battery base with a Kangar mini ProTank 3 for around 40. They gave me a small 10ml bottle of my choice house blend juice. I picked a .06 nicotine but only because I've smoked cigerettes & cigars before so the nic doesn't really bother me.

I went with the protank as an upgrade because of the glass tank on it, they said some juices would crack or break the plastic tanks. I don't like wasting money so the extra upfront was to me worth it.

Personally I don't think that's too overpowered, I don't have enough experience to say it may be underpowered so I'm sure another will speak up.
And for juice, just get some zero nic stuff, that should help with the nicotine sensation.

Good luck & welcome from another newb to vaping. :p

Hi :D

That x6 does look pretty sleek. I don't think it's too over powered for a starting setup, there are a few sites I saw offering a case, tank and the bat. as one package. Though for the price diff. compared to an iTaste VV 3 isn't too much off depending if you get a packag deal with a tank etc. Also depending on where you look. As far as throat hit, both PG and Nic. will play a part. You can search for max VG or 100% VG juices. Just keep in mind it will be really thick in a tank, and you may experience wicking issues. You can choose max VG w/ distilled water to thin it for tanking too.

I also have recently started vaping (with my vaping buddy/wife :) ). In my experience, high quality VG juice with 0 nicotine does not hurt my throat at all. Very smooth experience. I am surprised at the fact most of the juices I "think" I would like end up tasting poor, and vice versa on some others. A Vamo V5 (can vary the voltage or watts to fine tune your vaping experience, could be a good way to start as well.

Thank you again for all the information. I know have a new obstacle to overcome. My girlfriend thinks this is an immature decision to help my friend by vaping with them and thinks it is going to make me form a new habit and hurt my lunges. What are your insights on this?
I don't think vaping causes an addiction per say. But it does cause shinyitis and iwantit syndrome in many vapers.
