As the title states i am looking to pick up my first Genesis style rebuildable. Looking for something to get my feet wet into building and vaping w/ lower resistance. ~1 Ohm

I do not currently own a mechanical and have a Vamo / Hana mod V2 w/ Dna20. I have seen people go near sub-ohm on the DNA without any major issues. The protection that the DNA offers seems to be a plus so a mechanical mod may not be in my future.

So after looking at numerous threads and numerous videos in regards to rebuilding and products, i was interested in either the AGA-T2 or RSST. Any pro's and con's of either? I have enough drill buts to drill out both the air hole and wick hole if needed.

I was hoping for some recommendations in terms of supplies however. In terms of mesh 400 or 500? I am mainly vaping 85/15 - 50/50 juices.

In terms of wrapping the coils was contemplating going w/ either 28/30 awg however i am unsure if doing 3/4 wraps on a 28 awg wire will allow me to get close to 1 Ohm or if 3/4 on 28 will be too low.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have had both. Prefer the aga after drilling the wick hole out with a #30 drill bit. I like the fact the aga is dual coil / u wick ready and has a glass tank. Rsst has a cloudy plastic tank. Most people seem to like the rest. I didn't like it and got rid of mine

When you say #30 drill bit do you mean 30 gauge? As in 0.1285"? As in somewhere between 1/8" and 9/64"?

If so that is one enormous air hole and I would love to know more about your preferred coil setup.. it must create a ridiculous amount of vapor if an air hole that size is working for you.

For a first genisis, I would absolutely suggest the RSST because of the insulated (and very spacious) wick hole. It will be much easier to work out shorts, especially on VW, without having to worry about the wick grounding.

The other nice thing about the RSST is the EZ-capture positive post. You can wrap way too may coils, work out shorts and unwrap one by one until you get what you want.

get the rsst, it's so much easier to use than an aga-t. There's a lot more space to work with that you can use thicker wire with more coils to get the same resistance. The large insulated tank and wick hole really makes building wicks and coils so much easier. I have both the aga-t2 and rsst and now use my aga-t2 for backup, even after i drilled out the wick hole is not very easy to work with. Not sure if this will make a difference for you but the aga-t2 also weights almost twice as much as the rsst.

It is 0.1285" but i am talking about the hole the wick goes down, this brings the wick so much closer to the center post to make those top hot spots almost nonexistant

One thing I'd like to add, when wrapping your coil with 28ga. try not to wrap the coil too tight. 28 ga wire is stiff as wrapping wire goes and you could wrap your coil too tight and cause problems when you have hot spots. Sounds like you are ready but take your time this is a process that most people don't get right on the first go. Don't hesitate to come back and ask more questions or watch more videos.

thanks.. now another thing no one really mentions in any of the threads... Is the ss wick reusable? ie.. if i use the wick/coil for 1 week and the coil blows, can i keep using the wick and just recoil?

For those that are using the rsst what size are you drilling the air hole and wick hole? Are you also leaving the fill screw off?

You can reuse the wick. The stock size airhole is about 1.5mm try it before you drill it out, I have drilled my air hole to 1/16" for a more airy draw on one of them. You can punch the wick hole out to get a much larger hole. I did that on one of my rsst's. But 1/8" is about the desired size for the wick hole.
