Looking to quit cigarettes. I'm new here.

I'm currently a pack a day smoker and I'm really looking to quit. My wife and I tried using an e-cig called "smoke anywhere" that we saw at a local mall and have had nothing but problems with getting them to work.

After reading a bit on here today I think the Silver Bullet one looks reliable but I guess I'd love to hear what the general recommendation is.

I don't need some super modded smoke machine but something durable and reliable and easy to use.

What atomizer do I order with it? Where can I get the CR123 rechargable batteries? Can I get a flat tip instead of a round one? Is there anywhere I can get a package deal?

I don't need super crazy flavoring, I'd like something that tastes as close to a camel light as possible.

Basically just general advice for someone looking for answers.

I apologize if all these questions have been asked before and all I had to do was search, my time by a computer is limited and I was hoping for help asap.

Thank you all in advance,

ink

Welcome.

Take a look at the Joyce 510 Kit from Cignot, or the Vapor King from Vapor 4 Life. I have both of these and they have worked well for me and my wife. Forget about Smoking everywhere they are a rip off. Sorry you had to experience ecig for the first time with their product.

If you are looking for a easy to use PV then the VK is what you want to look at. The 510 is a great performer and a good starting point but there is a bit more learning curve.

You will be surprised at how different vaping is compared to smoking. When I started out I also did not want to try the "Crazy" Flavors but after a while I actually did not want to taste what cigarets used to taste like. So I started out with Lemonade, and then got some Redcow. needless to say once you get to experience a new taste and you taste buds start coming back i bet you will not want to simulate the tobacco taste again.

The 510 does have a small learning curve to it, but if you don't mind taking a few hours to learn, the Tornado/Ego is a great device, with major batt life, and is fairly user friendly, or you could try Volcano cigs for something that's as close to a real cig as you can get, and they involve even less of a learning curve :)

You may not want to carry around something quite as big as the silver bullet :D but for reliability you can't beat something which lets you put in your own batteries as opposed to regular ecig batts which need changing every 2 hrs.
I started out with a regular 901 kit but after a couple of weeks I knew I couldn't cope with carrying loads of batts for a days vaping. So I bought a Screwdriver  its a lot smaller than a silver bullet and totally reliable, mines still going strong after 11 months. Cheap replacement batteries and consistent hits every time, its as hassle free as you can get. Some lovely new full kits available. ecigscrewdriver.com

Hi,

I use an M401, which looks very much like a 'real' cigarette. It has good battery life, and I'm happy with the vapour production etc. I bought mine from Deal Extreme, but would have bought it from Heaven Gifts if I had known about them. Heaven Gifts sells the M401, as well as spare atomisers, batteries and empty carts. I bought some e-liquid and empty carts from Heaven Gifts before, and just bought an M401 for a friend, as well as some more e-liquid - which I am waiting for.

So my recommendation/opinion is to buy an M401 from Heaven gifts, and perhaps some tobacco flavours to try. Strictly e-juice there in the US also sells Dekang e-liquid. I just ordered the tobacco sampler pack and some 10ml bottles of RY4 and Vanilla ButterYum to try. Order over USD$10 and shipping is free/included. The 3ml sampler bottles are a good idea, as if you don't like any of the flavours, it's not too much of a waste. Buying e-liquid from the US will save hassles with returns etc, and you'll get the goods sooner. Heaven Gifts is in China however. I'm an Australian, so it doesn't matter where I buy my gear from. You might want to consider US made e-liquid also, such as Johnson Creek. I couldn't find a shipping option to Australia from their drop-down menu...it looks like it would cost USD$30 to ship to Australia anyway!

I'm happy with Dekang e-liquid for now. Just make sure you shake the hell out of the bottle every time before dripping it into an empty cart. My Dekang tasted terrible before I allowed the bottles to 'breath' (left lids and dropper part off the bottles) for an hour or so, and I shook them before use. Also be sure to wash the atomiser thoroughly under a hot tap before changing flavours. Then dry the atomiser, screw it back onto the battery and have a few puffs to make sure the vapour and taste is gone from the last 'smoke' (also dries the atty more). Otherwise you can get cross-contamination of flavours, with terrible results – especially with fruit flavoured e-liquids – YUCK!

One last thing, you will need to find the right dose of nicotine to satisfy your cravings. You don’t want to be ‘vaping’ too much, as the PG can dry your mouth etc out – which can be countered by drinking plenty of water. With your habit, I would recommend starting with 18mg/24mg minimum, and going up (or down) from there. I received a qualification as a drug and alcohol worker last year, but decided not to work in the field – so I have some knowledge about drugs, cravings etc. If you eventually want to quit your nicotine habit altogether, you could gradually reduce the amount you vape, and the dose (mg) of nicotine. Take it slow though ;-) Vaping is quite harmless compared to real cigarettes, so don’t be too concerned about it.

I've never heard that advice before, lol :D Not sure where you learnt that from. 8-o
Blowing out the primer from an atty is ok as long as you drip liquid back into it because if its dry it will kill it. No need to wash it under a tap.

Ok, given the following two options A or B, which would be easier for you to manage on a daily basis?

OPTION A

1. Grab e-cig
2. Grab back up e-cig battery
3. Grab e-cig battery charger
4. Grab e-liquid for e-cig
5. Grab extra e-cig cartridges for e-cig and battery
6. Leave your house and head to work

OPTION B

1. Throw tin of snus in pocket
2. Leave your house and head to work

Research is key, take your time to find what suits you. You don't always need the latest big battery holder pumping out a zillion volts like some will make you believe :D Whatever you buy make sure you have at least a few spare atomizers, batteries and a couple of flavs of eliquid to top up your carts with. You need to treat the atomizers as disposable items, they don't last much more than a couple of weeks before getting too weak to satisfy.
Good luck

Tried the stuff, for whatever reason it made me sick to my stomach, which is weird because I've got an Iron stomach.

Same with me but instead of my stomach, it made my throat swell up( well more of a vomit inducing feeling in my throat ) a little after a while. Was great till then though.

I started with a 510 - still use it sometimes but not much anymore. I used a Janty Stick for about 6 month but I lost it somewhere. I now have a silver bullet as my main vape - its big and I may not loose it so easy. It also stands up on end on the counter.
If your not going to carry it around in your pocket it's great and I highly recommend it. You'll need to get some 510 addys and carts when you purchase it. I like the 801 addys so I ordered a 510 to 801 adapter with mine. The 801 holds more juice in the cart so you don't have to fill so often. If I where you go for the recommended battery's for it the 18650. its a great battery and you'll get very good life out of it and your addys. If you stack the RCR123's you get a 6 volt set up and that's a new ball game.

lol....

the long and the short of it is all the ecigs listed above are better than what you bought at the mall.....obviously everyone has their favorites....some are better for one thing others better for another....watch that beginners video, decide what your looking for and what's the best for you....

what it boils down to is that vaping is a lot more fun than smoking....I was a pack a day guy too and I quit in one day....starting seven weeks now.....

For me option A. I used to RubSnuff for about a year, i know it is not the same as SNUs but my opinion is that it is still a way of getting mouth Cancer.

I also had a hard time quitting Smokeless tobacoo it was so bad that i ended up on analogs and smoking twice as much. For me it just does not work.

PV's provides me a good option and control over my NIC intake. So If one day i want to quit NIC i just lower my Dose until im down to 0mg. Just saying that is what works for me.
