Looking to start stock piling how much flavor as percentage in a mix is typical?

The title says it all.

I live in Illinois, and best I can tell, days are numbered for flavors. I generally dont make my juice, I have, but out of necessity I probably will have to soon. So how much to get?

Or will flavors stand alone still be available?

On average flavors take 10-15% of the mix.I think you'll still have access after the ban because they are produced for the food industry.Nicotine is that you must stock at the moment.

It really depends on the strength of the flavoring you buy and your taste. I use FA almost exclusively and mix >5%--usually closer to 3%. But I also vape unflavored.

FDA has no jurisdiction over products there are not deemed "tobacco products," like food flavorings, VG, PG, organic cotton, wire, what have you, so they can't ban those. So I wouldn't worry about that. Just make sure that you buy the right flavorings--no oils, no diketones.

It depends very heavily on the perceptions of the user.
5-15% maybe? Depends on the particular flavor and the particular person. Fruits tend to be weak. Tobaccos used to be strong years ago but aren’t anymore. Menthol can be very very strong. It often breaks that 5% minimum by a lot.

Flavorwest for example dilutes or concentrates their stuff so their suggested ratio is always 10% no matter the flavor. I personally find it to be only sometimes the correct number for me and flavorwest.

These big food flavouring companies have been around for ages. They ain't going away anytime soon. That said if you are gonna freeze or otherwise hoard them it would make sense to buy the stronger concentrates. Flavour Art fits that bill perfectly.

Worst case you will be able to make and vape your own juice in spite of the flavor ban. The ban is for vendor made juices sold in vape shops. As others said, fruit and candy flavorings originally were just banned for e-cigarette flavors. We adopted them for flavoring juices and they work well. Lorann' and other makers' flavors are for food flavoring, but have many other uses, ecig DIY being a major one. Make sure that the flavors you buy don't contain oils. They should be water soluble flavors.

So I am considering some pg/vg/nic from Nude nic. I want it premixed because I don't want 100 nic. If I vape at 6 mg should I get a higher nic yo balance out the flavor I want to add?
Also how long can I store premixed it will I be able to continue to buy it?

Multiple separate questions. I’m answering them out of order because it make more sense for me that way.

“How long can I store premixed?”
Depends on how you do it.
Unprotonated nic base has a fairly long frozen shelf life but a fairly short warm shelf life. It is susceptible to heat and light.
Base with NO nic in it has a long shelf life though it can be put in a freezer without issues.
The wonky one is flavorings. Flavorings tend to have a decent though quite variable shelf life. Some will be destroyed by freezing and some won’t.
This means that IF you have a flavoring that can withstand the freezer (they exist) you can freeze premixed juice without issue.
You can also freeze low nic base without issue.

Higher than 6mg. How high depends on how much flavoring you add, which changes from flavoring to flavoring.

Flavorings are more iffy, because while it would be difficult to make flavorings unsuitable for vaping it may not be impossible that it be accomplished. That sort of thing has been done before. Particularly with alcohol. Cooking wine has copious amounts of salt in it. Ethyl alcohol has an additive in it that makes it undrinkable.

What I personally am doing:
-I bought a couple liters of high nic base. It takes up less room in my freezer that way. It’s by no means a lifetime supply. (Some are buying those amounts) It will allow me to titrate down though should the worst occur.
-I also bought a bunch of my favorite flavors. I am storing them in the refrigerator.
-I have not stocked up on PG or VG

Thank you for the response. I am hoping to put the pg/vg/nic in the freezer if possible. I won't add flavoring until I am ready to make a 60 or 120 ml bottle. Thinking I might even try vaping unflavored for a while. I just need to keep it simple!

Unless you mix with high flavor content, over 10%, I doubt you would notice the nic being slightly lower than the original 6mg. Enter the numbers into a juice calculator to gain more perspective of the actual nic dilution.

Wonderful! I think I will order a liter and start experimenting BEFORE Texas jumps in the ban wagon.
