I would suggest the VTube (better than lavatube, but basically same thing) because you can vary the voltage in .1v increments. The Twist is good, but dosen't allow you to 'fine tune' the voltage. If you want to use something like the Stardust/Clearomizers, you'll need a 510 to eGo adapter though, because the VTube or Lavatube dosen't have the outside threading that the eGo does. I've seen too many complaints about the Lavatube around here. People seem to love them to start with, but then something happens down the road, it breaks somehow. The VTube has alot better track record and it has a one year warrenty. There is also a discount you can get for 30% off the price, but I don't know what it is. Maybe someone else will come on here and have it for you. Here's a link to the VTube.

There are so many different mods out there for you to choose from depending on your price range. If you have time you should go online and look at the different reviews for the variable voltage mods. just be careful in buying parts for them specially batteries and attys.
Ive personally wasted so much money on different mods and finally settled on one.

good luck

I personally would go with a Twist. I like the fact that it's way more compact.

My only reason to go with the LavaTube would be if I really needed it to go up to 6v (Twist goes to 4.8v).

Edit: I've gotta start reading the full OP. lol. Seeing as how you have no issue with size, you could go with the LavaTube for more options as it has a drip well and it can go to 6v.

Hi everyone.
So I'm looking to upgrade and am stuck deciding between the ego twist or a lavatube.
Which one do you suggest. Which one would give me the most options for accessories such as cartomizers, clearomizers,
dual coils etc. Size of the unit doesn't really matter. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

I've gotta agree with Kay.

The vtube is the better route. It has many more features than the twist. You can fine tune your voltage, see what voltage you are at, see how much charge is left in your battery, regulation and more. Plus, you can get spare batteries for $10.

The cheapest I have seen the 1000mah twist is $26 from altsmoke. Then you still have to spend $8 for the charger. So now you are spending $34 for the twist plus shipping. The 1000mah version is very long too.

For $20 more you get a much better mod, that has more features, includes a case and atty, and can uses replaceable, rechargeable batteries.

ALL good suggestions here. I don't have the vtube or a lavatube, but do have the twist and like it a lot. One thing I don't like about it is that you have no warning or indication when the battery is about to die. I have the i-taste battery and like it because it is a pass-through, warns me when the battery is low, has a counter for how many puffs (which is kinda fun). It goes up to 5 volts. the cost for just the battery and charger is like about $38.00. I purchased the whole kit (including the cone, cartridges, 4 atties and two adaptors).

Do let us know what you decide to get and how it works for you!

Between the Twist and the VTube, it's hard to make a bad choice. The Twist is much more pocketable, especially compared to the full size VTube. But the VTube uses replaceable batteries whereas the Twist is disposable. I.e., when the battery eventually dies, you throw the whole Twist away.

I have the stainless steel VTube from Apollo and have been very happy with it. I'm using Vivi Nova tanks with it, and that combination produces a great vape. I love being able to dial the voltage up or down to find the perfect vape.

In the interest of full disclosure, if you are a fan of dual coil cartomizers the current version of the VTube and the Twist are not your best choices. But, other than that, either one is a great choice. I don't use dual coil cartomizers so it's a non-issue to me.

Hi Bigfrank.... this thread has the potential to go endless with opinions. you put anything head to head with an ego twist, and the opinions would start pouring in :D... so here's my two cents...since you are looking to upgrade, i take it that you have not tried a VV yet, so for a vaper like you I dont think you would need anything beyond 4.8v at this point...most of the juices that you have tried so far on your fixed voltage batts will have enough room to come alive in the 3.2 to 4.8 range which the twist offers..a no hassle robust looking device, that i own too :)... so if you ask me, i say go for the twist..

happy vaping

Go with the Lava tube Heres a link to check out different modes Lava Tube new old whats the diffrence? - YouTube. Ego twist I haven't tried but its disposable the Lava Tube is a little more money out of the gate but eventually youll be money ahead as you don't have to throw it away in a few months.

I'm not sure where the impression that you can't fine tune the Twist comes from.
While the markings are at 0.2v increments, it uses an analog device to adjust voltage so I have no problems adjusting it to .1v increments or less. It doesn't have a display like the LT so you do it more or less by feel, but if you take a volt meter to it you can see that it is possible to adjust in very small increments.

I went with the Twist because I already had a Kgo and all the "eGo class" attachments and chargers. It also was much more pocketable (650mah size) and for ME that was a huge factor.

I don't think you can go wrong with either system though, and if size doesn't matter and you don't have eGo chargers and attachments then you may want to try the LT.

Just a quick update. I decided to go with the lavatube. A good choice for me I'm loving it. It works very well I'm trying it right now with cartomizers and some ce2 clearomizers I picked up. Both are performers great. So I recommend it if your thinking of getting one. Thanks to everyone for they're opinions very appreciated my best to everyone.
