Hello all! I am new to ECF, but have been vaping close to 9 months now. I currently am using an Itaste MVP and my backup is an Itaste VV. I am hoping to upgrade soon with all the great deals this week. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I would love to buy a mod, but there are so many out there. I have seen the vape clouds these produce, but I cannot build my own coils, wicks, etc. Please any suggestions would be awesome (links are appreciated too)

My suggestion to you is to go to Youtube and check out these 3 channels. Rip Trippers, GrimmGreen, and Pbusardo. They have a wealth of knowledge and reviews on different Mods as well as instructions on how to build coils. (Especially Rip Trippers)
I honestly don't have the time to build, just looking for a simple yet powerful battery
Rip Trippers is a riot, i love that guy. Pbusardo is a giant in the vaping world, so always reliable source. I personally love Todd, from Todd ecigreviews channel. I have an obsessive personality so i quickly ascended in terms of my vaping equipment as i have only been vaping for about 2 months. I started with a cheapy vw sigelei, moved on to an Innokin VTR, 134 mini, and as of last friday, a soon-to-be proud owner of an authentic VW nemesis mechanical mod. I also have started from glassomizer tanks such as the protank 2, davide bdc etc. I found out that i could rebuild the heads in the protank 2 so i started with that. Moved on to getting a kayfun rta, and now bought several drippers and a genesis style. If what you are looking for is a low maintanence thing just to quit smoking then stay where ur at with vw devices. If your really after a hobby-type thing now, mechanical mods and rebuildable drippers/tank systems is def where the clouds are at. This forum is a great source of information.
Welcome Shaussler -- I didn't think I could build coils either 6 months ago but, it ain't so hard with some practice. I suggest a mechanical and an RDA that you can build single or double coils like the Trident V2 RDA. I have one on top of each of my mechanicals. HCigar and EHPro are the best IMO and they can be found here:

However they are currently out of Trident V2s. Be sure to grab a OHM meter also good batteries and charger if you don't already have those. Efest Purple 30amp 18650 is what I use. Efest charger also.

Thanks for the tips!!! I have not smoked a cigarette since 7/27/2013! I enjoy vaping too much to ever stop, so I guess I will have to start learning more!

The battery is just part of the equation. Much like how an engine needs three things to run (spark, gas, and, air), your PV needs three things: power, liquid, and air. The battery moving the electrons (or rather the holes
) through the coil is the power, expressed as Watts. A better coil can lead to a better performance, once taking the liquid and air intakes into consideration.
If you really just want a powerful battery go for a box mod running 2 18650 batteries. You might want to wait a little bit though because they are going to start putting in a Naos Raptor chip capable of 120 watts / 20 amps in like may.
To make the big clouds of vapor you'll need to get into the rebuildable atomizers.
However, there's more to vaping than chasing clouds. Please remember why you began vaping in the first place. If vaping is keeping you from smoking, then its doing its job.
I personally enjoy flavor and consistancy over clouds. Consider using a cartotank. You don't need a more powerful mod for these. Your MVP will be more than plenty powerful.

Atomizers and mods aren't just about clouds. You can actually get more flavor with a custom coil that has more surface area. Like a stove top coil or something made from twisted Kanthal or ribbon wire.
I don't have a clue about rebuilding and even if I did I have arthritis a few fingers on each hand, so no way I could do it. I have a Provari and use both an Aspire Nautilus and iclear 30S on it and get a great vape. My Provari was a gift and I know they are expensive, so if you don't have the $$ for that, there are plenty of other really great new things out there. Read through some of the subforums to see what folks have to say about various APVs and check out the YouTubes people suggested. I usually Google anything that seems interesting (both for photos and for links to buying). Lots of fun to be had. Enjoy!
If you are using off the shelf atomizers on your MVP, a mechanical mod isn't going to give you a more intense vape. Set your MVP to 4.2v- that is the voltage a fresh battery in a mech mod will give you. Take a few puffs, now drop the voltage by .1... Keep doing that every few puffs. Now you will know what a mech mod will give you with your atomizer.
More efficient toppers will hit harder and give you more. Try a dual coil protank 3 or aerotankif you don't want to deal with rebuilding. It will give you a better feel for what dual coils (or even a better single coil will give you- a well built single coil in a good rebuildable can be very efficient- I went from vaping 24mg nic to 6mg moving from off the shelf devices to rebuildable). If you want intense flavor, little hassle, and good performance- follow Baditudes advice on carto tanks
If you ever want to go down the road to rebuildable a, I recommend starting by getting a cheap dripper and use it on your MVP while you learn the basics...and read, read, learn and know battery safety, as when you start dealing with mech mods, you have no protection. A shorted coil (or very low resistance coil)+ a poor quality battery that has not been maintained properly, in a mech mod + running too long = potentially explosive device next to your face. The regulated mods like the MVP (and my favorite, the ProVari) offer great protection, and a more consistent experience (fresh charged battery until time to recharge- the output to your atomizer is what you set it at. )

Ive been using a Trident clone as my first RDA. Coil placement is such a pain in it because the barrel is thicker inside (due to the internal airflow hole ring) so if youre not VERY careful you can easily crush your newly built coils down to the deck. If you have them too close to the centre to avoid this, you risk singeing/melting the positive insulator (which I have done, possibly from test firing it too aggressively.) The Trident V2 has a much smaller insulator, which would probably prevent this, but Ive heard that it has a similar amount of internal space (again, it has a thick inner portion that reduces the chamber size when you press it on. Personally im looking for an RDA with more space inside and with adjustable airflow.

Honestly you probably won't find a more powerful battery than your MVP. That things lasts for days.
If you want a more "powerful vape", is suggest a good carto tank with some low res boge cartos. I'm rocking a 22mm ibtanked on my MVP 2 at about 4.2 volts & the thing blows serious clouds.

I personally follow grimmgreen, pbusardo, indoor smoker and a few others. If you are looking for straight reviews without many builds and things of that nature I recommend indoorsmoker. He has a good eyes for different mods and tanks without being one of those guys who is big I into building rda's and rba's. He's more of your entry level guy who just likes tot all about various tanks and mods. Give him a look and see if he tickles your fancy.
I second indoor smoker. If you're not into rebuildables & the like, he's your guy. The others don't always cover those & do do more entry level stuff, but IS almost does all entry level & middle tier stuff.
I remember in one of his videos he said that he wanted to be the guy that got people into vaping, not the guy who tried to be the most knowledgable, that made me want to follow him even more when I was just a newbie. I still love to watch his videos because he really does know his stuff when it comes to the basics of tanks and mod accessories. He's a great guy to learn from.
