Thanks everyone! After doing a lot of looking around with her, we're thinking the RN4081 might just be the way to go due to the prices we've seen and the look. Problem is, we don't know where to buy from so she won't get ripped off. The only 4081 that looks reputable (or has been mentioned in this thread) is the SS, but that's a crazy cost for something she's just going to use every once in a blue moon. Anyone know of anywhere to buy a kit other than SS?

Oh, and she's not here where I am. She's in Maine, but thanks for the lookup. ;)

Yes, SS is not cheap, i will grant you that. But you wanted looks, they have looks, lol. Why they had Katherine Heigl puffing their brand on Letterman a few weeks ago....

She was puffing a Pitbull (not released yet) but i believe she used to use the Hendu.

I would like to marry her in case anyone can hook me up... ha ha.

Seriously, I got my stepfather a Joye 510 MEGA with the orange LED and orange cartomizers (look like a tan filter) from HC and it looks like a large cigarette. I really believe that a standard 510 with an orange cart doesn't look that much different from an analog.

+1 for the 510.

There's also the 306 which is a bit smaller.

Edit: If you're set on the 4081, search google for: RN4081 starter kit

You'll find plenty of places to buy it.

Also, there's TONS of info on minis in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-4-6-buying-your-first-e-cig-little-guys.html

Not to be complicated about all this, but the 510, 4081, KR808, etc all taste different. I own all three of those. The only reason I said 4081 is best for her is her light use of analogs. Personally I like the 4081 best for taste - by far, the 510 second and a LONG, LONG way behind is the KR808. But again, some love it.

To me:

4081: Great taste, love it. Not powerful enough for anyone that smokes 1 pack a day or more.

510: A bit airy for me because of large vapor, vapor amount somewhat dilutes the flavor, but with EGO version has the performance to satisfy heavy smokers. Taste is fine, just a little airy.

KR808: Don't like the taste, at all.

EDIT: The only caveat to this is I have The Safe Cig. Their battery "says" that it is a "modified version of a 3.6v". I believe that the standard for the 4081 is like 3.1 or 3.2. A 3.6v for a 4081 seems a tad hard to believe to me and am very skeptical of that claim, but I am not certain. I am just reporting what it says...

For instance, the SS is like 3.1V and their beta Pitbull is 3.4V. So 3.6V seems like a reach to me....

A LOT of posts lately about that brand, likely because 7-11 is selling it. It is likely an M401, if I had to guess. I have never owned that model, so can't comment on it.

I actually hear a lot of good things about this one. Like I said before, I don't know how long it would last for a heavy smoker (mostly because I think it only comes with one battery-?), but for social smokers it seems to do the trick.

Well, the M401 is likely far better than the E9 which used to be the main type for cheapos. And they are introducing people to ecigs. As long as it works for a few weeks it is a good thing....

It appears that the E9 is rapidly going away (for good reason).... don't see it much anymore...

PS: Has anyone else noticed that Rosa has the reddest lips ever!!! ;)

One analog a day? That is a nonsmoker, lol. I would just walk away from cigs and never look back. But whatever. By far the worst mistake I have ever made in my life, but to each their own.

I had a roommate many years ago who smoked one cig a day after dinner.
Go figure. She keep the pack in the Refrigerator and it lasted 20 days.

From my research, it appears to be an M401. I bought it simply to try out an e-cig and 7-11 was a convenient place. The side effects were, I liked it and I have cut back dramatically on analogs (2 yesterday, 2 today). The carts are small, but I don't mind adding juice when I have to.

My BIG issue with so called social smokers is this - we ALL started out as the same. I never smoked for the first 20 years of my adult life. Going out partying with friends I began to smoke with them. Then they tired of giving me cigs and said to buy my own. I did. Then a social habit rapidly became 1.5 packs a day. Why I always, always say... if you are a social smoker walk way and as fast as you can. You are playing with fire...

It sounds like that model is pretty decent, certainly compared to the crap intro units used to be. Cool.

I had a neighbor who smoked one a week. I always envied him so much because he'd been that way for years and he was my dad's age, I was 15 and totally hooked already.

There is NO reason to be a social smoker. You aren't addicted - yet. If you smoke and not addicted you are a fool. I don't know any other way to put it.

All i can say is this (and many others will not agree)... I have the KR808, I have a 4081. Considering how little your friend smokes, the 4081 from SS is the best choice, IMO. I strongly dislike the taste my KR gives, I love the taste my 4081 gives. It isn't even comparable.

But everyone is different. There are tons of KR fans. I wouldn't pay $1 for mine again however.

I tried my KR again today as I am still convinced something HAS to be wrong because of the fans of it on here... still hated it. I tried the pre-filled I have, hated them. I put liquid into it, hated it. i tried my passthrough, hated it. I do not like the taste from it. Back in the drawer...again.

Hi Buss, I agree with you to an extent...I hate the kr808 with cartomizers, but I ordered a dse901 atomizer and use that instead of carts...either with a drip tip or with carts. It's great that way. :)

I would say a 306. a Joye 306a if you don't mind buying from china. I don't know of anyone in the states selling kits.

you can piece a kit together here, even with cartos.

Route 66 sells the kits here, and you can use the ECF code "ECF Discount 5" for 5% off all items all the time just for being an ECF member.

I agree with the idea that it doesn't matter what it LOOKS like...it's how it performs that matters. I first bought a greensmoke, which looks incredibly like a real cigarette. The battery is white and even has a bit of texture with those line things on it. The size is comparable, too. However, I felt like the batteries would only last an hour at most and it was extremely hard for me to take a drag...I had to suck REALLY hard to get the darn thing to even register that I was trying to smoke it, completely defeating the purpose of me trying to imitate smoking a real cigarette. I just got a vapor4life cig, and I LOVE IT. I got pink batteries, and they are super cute. The ends even light up pink! The size is pretty comparable to a 100 size cigarette, although the site also offers a "shorty" model, which would appear to be the size of a traditional king sized cigarette. I can smoke it just like a normal cig, too, no more of those quick sucking actions to get my battery to work!
