From what I've read:
Just put 'em in a cool, dry place. Probably wouldn't hurt if it was dark. Shelf life reported to be 18 months to 2 years. I don't know what happens to it after that. I'd still try to vape it if it smelled OK, and didn't have mold or small creatures living in it.
You can't freeze PG or VG in a regular freezer, it has to get MUCH colder. A lot of people keep their stuff in the fridge, freezer, or closet. I haven't read anything to indicate that any of those were superior to the other.

I don't have to worry about kids, so I just put them in my coffee table drawer.
Dark, dry and cool is what you're looking for. Although, I've read negative stuff about using the fridge. I'd provide links but I'm too lazy. Search, it's out there.
