I'm curious if anyone else has lost weight vaping? Since I started vaping I have lost weight! :)
My biggest concern with quitting analog ciggs was weight gain! In the past whenever I tryed to quit I would Snack more because I wasn't smoking. now that I'm vaping I have noticed I don't need the snacks because there are so many yummy flavers to vape and no yucky calories! Another great reason for vaping! Just wondering if anyone has lost weight, or has an opinion on this?

many people report weight loss here...others report a weight gain

i think it's just a case of it affects different people differently and you do have to take people's social history and context into the mix

one thing you might think about doing now that you dont smoke...is getting into an exercise program of some sort...it doesnt...and probably shouldnt be very drastic at first...3-4 days per week etc

im a distance runner and was even when i smoked...but i couldnt get past running more than 5 miles...since vaping though i just did a half marathon (13.1 miles) and average about 25 miles a week and some weight lifting

it's a good time to start working on other aspects of your life...a new you..so to speak

When I first picked up vaping, I was eating quite a bit. Still, I didn't put on as much weight as I used to when I had quit smoking before. After the first year, I stopped being hungry all the time and remained at a stable weight. After the second year I am able to control my caloric intake even more and have managed to lose a few pounds.

Argh...I should be so lucky! Quit anals (now that's funny...butts...anals/analogs...no?) on January 30, 2013...could NOT have done it without e-cigs and graduated to vaping at lightning speed...have gained almost 10 lbs. Argh. But I have also reduced my nicotine intake to about .4 mg via dilution of juice, ultimately hoping for a "nobacco" vape altogether...just enjoy being able to feel like I can still be social with my smoking friends and family without going crazy and feeling deprived.

Apparently I do not deprive my tummy either...she talks constantly so I put food in her to shut her up.

That said, GOOD FOR YOU! That's awesome! :)

When I first began vaping I gained about 10 lbs. Within 8 months I realized my lung capacity had improved to the point whereby I could enjoy the activities I once participated in but couldn't because of my decreased lung capacity. My GP is amazed at how fit I am and asked if I "worked out" since quitting...I told him No I'm not working out but am very active in sports that I really enjoy :D

I've lost for sure. I think vaping does help if you have had a history of fluid retention and you have had an edge on not getting as dehydrated as some others. Some of that weight is fluid that never should have been there in the first place. But, for the most part, I think once the decision is made to vape one's mindset becomes more health oriented than previously. I felt better and breathed better so I was just naturally more active. I love to walk out in the fresh air now and look forward to it instead of seeing it as a boring drudge. I can walk faster and have much more agility than I did smoking. I enjoy the flavors and get the oral satisfaction that only eating gave me before and, one of the main things, I don't get so bored and use food for entertainment because I have my toy to do that. Add it all together and its gonna spell weight loss.

Edit: Just came back from a walk (LOL) and thought of another thing that's cause weight loss. Everything tastes better! You would think that would make for more, not less, eating but it doesn't for me. I think I over ate for enjoyment but now I enjoy quality more than quantity. Early on, when my taste and smell healed from smoking, I still filled my plate with what I used to eat but returned it to the kitchen half-eaten. Now I take portions I know I'll finish... about half what that used to be.

I also have a vastly decreased apetite. But once I make something for dinner and start eating, I realize how hungry I was. Almost like vaping masks hunger.

Same here! I have noticed that my appetite has gone down (good thing for me) to the point I no longer crave candy/ice cream after meals.

The only thing that causes a human to gain fat is a caloric excess, the only thing that causes a human to loose fat is a caloric deficit.

yep thats true, but that isn't what our OP is asking if you read the context

he/she was really asking whether or not vaping is likely to create a craving for more calories or cause the opposite
