Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, and now BILLY MAYS. I will miss all 4 of these people, especially MJ and Billy Mays both of which were only 50 when passing away. I was really enjoying Pitchmen on Discovery Channel to... RIP

Seems the death by 3's is increasing itself to 4's... hopefully no more deaths come any time soon. And respect goes out to the families of all 4.

Ditto. I don't know about Billy Mays, but the other 3 had such sad circumstances in their lives. Farrah's son being incarcerated for drugs, I understand that he has suffered addiction problems for quite sometime. He couldn't even go see her in the end. Ed McMahon was broke.....that in it's self is a sad commentary on his life, all the fame but his money was gone? I enjoyed him immensely. Michael J.......well that's been a sad case for sooooooo long. I grew up with the Jackson 5. He was cute and so talented. I'm not sure I believe all the 'evil' things he was accused of but there is no doubt that he was one of the most talented people of our time. I find it very very sad that he was such a tormented soul, broke, and all his fame and former wealth couldn't heal him. Hopefully they are all at peace and we too will find it someday.

Neither here nor there
ITA Dawn. Larry King said he heard the prosecutors in MJs trial talking about how they were extorting him, but Larry was not permitted to testify because it was hearsay. MJ didn't make the best choices, and it was easy to accuse him of impropriety.

Billy Mays apparently was hit on the head yesterday in a plane's hard landing. Sounds like Natasha Richardson's case to me. Very sad.

Yeah I feel for them all... especially Michael, hope he can finally rest in peace... I've enjoyed Billy Mays from the first time I saw one of his infomercials and have been catching his show Pitchmen on Discovery Channel since it aired and it's made me like him more as a person, and now I hear about this, just kind of another slap in the face after the other 3. Billy seemed to have a good heart and care about everyone he was around, and very nice to people, didn't seem like this was something that should have happened to him.

And I'm with you, I don't believe all the horrible things said about Michael Jackson, I didn't grow up with the Jackson 5 but I did grow up with Michael Jackson in the late and early 90's, always loved his music, and I'm not a pop fan in the least bit, but his music, there was just something there I really really liked.

That is really strange. FoxNews reported his death this morning and said his wife released a statement. Something to the effect of please give us our time right now and we will release a public statement in the coming days.

Interesting....

U.S. Airways confirmed Sunday that Mays was among the passengers on a flight that made a rough landing on Saturday afternoon at Tampa International Airport, leaving debris on the runway after apparently blowing its front tires.

Tampa Bay's Fox television affiliate interviewed Mays after the incident.

"All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping," MyFox Tampa Bay quoted him as saying. "It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."

McElroy said linking Mays' death to the rough landing Saturday afternoon would "purely be speculation." She said Mays' family members didn't report any health issues with the pitchman, but they said he was due to have hip replacement surgery in the coming weeks.

I bet this had everything to do with it. He said to his wife he didn't feel well before going to bed that night. I will bet his head hit during that landing caused a cerebrial hemmorhage. Nausea hours after a head hit is serious requiring an immediate visit to the ER.

Mays was one hellava salesman. He will be missed. :(

I agree.

BOC taught me that 40,000 people die everyday (accuracy completely unverified, I'm just attempting to put things into perspective).

Still, when several well-known people pass away in such a brief amount of time... and when a couple of those were completely unexpected (by the general public), it does give one time to pause. Especially if one is not that far from the half-century mark themselves.

According to https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html

World death rate 8.37/1000 people
Birth rate 20.09/1000 people

This means about 153,000 deaths per day, and 367,000 births each day... (it takes two adults to make 1 birth, and there is usually just one birth a year per family -- if that -- which explains why the birth rate has to be much higher, to sustain the current population).

Hi I agree I dont believe the horriible things about Michael Jackson either. It is funny how the familiy settled out of court. And the ther charge he was found not guilty. He was a wonderful human being, had many charities and had childlike qualities, very trusting, and kind. He was a wonderful entertainer, He definetely was the king of Pop. I and millions of others will miss him. God bless his family for their time of sorrow.
