Lost. Confused. No idea where to go from here on a new device!

I'll try to keep this as simple as possible.

I've been using a mixture of the standard Volcano and Blu products for about a year now. I started with a Volcano Vkit and have purchased attys and batteries from either volcano or Blu depending on who's on sale, etc. when parts are needed. I generally buy e liquid from volcano because I like their premium menthol flavor much better than Blu's.

Recently Blu changed to a cartomizer design, and I really like it. It works much better and lasts so much longer than refilling and using the standard Blu or Volcano carts.

But, I think the time has come to move on to a different product. I originally chose the blu/volcano design due to the fact that it was pretty much the same size as an analog. I think I'm ready to move on from that as I'm am quickly tiring of the completely usesless battery life on these models. I have 2 batteries currently and I am charging, and recharging both of them at least once a day. So, I am currently eyeing one of the Inferno kits from Volcano, but I have a number of questions. So, here goes:

1. Is the inferno just a Joy EGO rebranded? They look the same, so my assumption is yes.
2. Should I even bother buying it from Volcano? Would I get a better deal elsewhere? Should I even be bothering with an EGO or is there something else everyone is really digging right now?
3. What is the cone for on an EGO?
4. Are the Blu cartomizers good for anything on the EGO, or should I toss them out?
5. There seems to be a new model called the EGO T. What are the differences?
6. Volcano has the inferno, and the inferno T. The T model seems to use something called tanks instead of cartomizers. Am I understanding this correctly?

Overall, I'm confused and lost on all these different products. Any help or insight you guys can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

From my experience, the inferno kit is awesome. The battery life is incredible. I like the fact that I can bring 1 battery with me and I know for sure it will last all day. The cool thing is the "passthru" that come with it. It's not a true passthru but it serves the purpose. It has a USB port on the battery so you can charge it while vaping and all yuo have to do is unplug it from the battery and you can carry it with you for the day.

Also, the inferno comes with a 1000 mah and 650 mah battery which is nice. I believe the kits from the genuine Riva/eGo comes with 2 x 650 mah batteries.

can someone explain how the standard inferno works? I know the T uses something new called Tankomizers. Does the standard inferno just use cartomizers? It seems that the Blu cigs are just rebranded 510 units. Would that make my exisiting Blu cartomizers work in the standard inferno?

I would look at the T unit, but I'm not sure I would like the whistle tips.

If you have been vaping for a year I would go to a mod. Look for something that is vv and you'll be very happy imo.

Agreed! If you really want to "move up" and reduce your frustration level, look at a good 5 volt or variable volt PV's. GLV2, ProVari, Darwin, etc. Much better consistency, throat hit, battery life, etc.

After a year I would look for a mod of some kind.

The REO Grand or Mini is a great juice feed mod if you want to go that route.
It works great with low resistance cartomizers too.

A good mod pays for for itself over time. Instead of throwing away a whole PV you just have to replace a battery for 8 bucks or so every once and a while.

What is your opinion on the whistle tips, coming from the standard round tips? Looking at the prices, maybe I should go with an inferno T since it comes with a bottle of juice as well (which I need to order soon anyway). If I really don't like the tips, I could just get a pack of the round cartomizers instead, if the Blu cartos don't work on it.

I have tried alot of Mods, found myself charging the batteries more than vaping...
I picked up the Inferno & now my mods sit in the tack box
why?...because someone earlier mentioned the 650 & 1000 mah bats & Pt
Its so handy to use, I am not always charging batteries, Because these things LAST!!!
I suppose the Ego would compare for sure...I just was on Volcano's site one day & saw what the kit had for the price , it was unbeatable for me...plenty of vapor, good taste in my Juice...I am a happy camper with my set up.

It really all depends on how much money you want to spend. 3.7v box mods are pretty cheap. Personally, I prefer something that's all mechanical. Less chance of anything going wrong. That's why I went with the Super T Manufacturing Precise. They have three models to chose from depending on the size/battery life, you're looking for. I find the 16340 is the perfect compromise between size and battery life. I get 8 to 12 hours (depending on atty resistance) of near constant chain vaping from a 16340 IMR battery.

I agree that these are well built but their BIG limitation is they do not do 5 volt or variable volt. The "sweet spot" for many experienced vapers is 4.5v to 5 volts.

Would you like to get rid of any of those neglected mods sitting cold and lonely... PM me and let me know if ya do ...

Now I admit that electrical engineering isn't my thing (unless you want an explanation of the conduction of the human heart), but isn't it watts that are really important here and not necessarily just voltage? So that being the case, what wattage would be the "sweet spot" for vaping? And wouldn't a 3.7 volt device with a 1.5 ohm atty fall in that range?

Like I said, I could be wrong, but that's my understanding of how it works.

I'm no EE either just a well seasoned vaper who has experimented with many different devices. I'm not a fan of the LR attys because I've found they don't hold up as well and I don't want to be limited to just that type of atty. There is a much larger range of atty/cartomizer options in the standard resistence ones. Plus on some PV models, such as the eGo, LR attys have been known to kill the switch on the PV.

Using a Darwin VV PV, I found that 8.5 watts on an 801 atty or carto with a 3.0 resistence gets me right around 4.8 volts. I like the 4.5 to 5.0 volt range for vaping.
