Got my mail stopped at Chicago (customs) for 12 days. Called USPS. Got it in my mailbox next day. Still wonder, was it a coincidence or higher powers were at work?

Yeah I've had that happen with fasttech, but this order is from Cali. Supposed to have been here yesterday. Didn't show up today either.

Sometimes things get re-routed for one reason or another. One of my packages last year went to a town other than mine (in Texas), then went to another couple of towns, then went to another STATE (Oklahoma) before it made it back to me eventually, maybe 3 or more weeks.

Give it several days, then call the post office and see if they can determine its location

I had one package get lost from USPS, I contacted them and asked how I go about getting reimbursed, the woman I was speaking with actually laughed, and said, "You don't! You didn't buy insurance." So for now on if a package cost more than $20.00 I get Priority $50.00 insurance included. Last week FedEx lost my flavoring from Cappela's ( I realize it's not USPS) but I contacted Cappela's, they sent another order ASAP. If your package is only a couple days late I wouldn't worry to much yet, that's happen to me a lot, usually it shows up. Worse case, if it is lost, more than likely the vendor will replace it. Hope you see it Monday.

It was batteries from Illumn. No idea if they will replace them or not. I hope someone does or I'll be salty.

Bought a ProVari in the classifieds in March. It was shipped priority 2-day with $50 insurance. Tracking shows it never made it out of California. I was told by more than one person that the sender shipped it to the wrong address, but when I finally got someone from Consumer Affairs to scan the package image it showed the correct address. He then told me it was "probably caught in a machine somewhere". Yeah, that's probably it.

Unfortunately, the sender wouldn't take the time to file a claim so I'm out $100. Based on the number of reported issues lately, there's apparently a rogue postal machine in CA with a taste for vape gear.

I never ordered anything from Illumn. But if your batteries don't show up on Monday, certainly contact them. If they are worth doing business with, they will make it right. Cappela's didn't give me any problem at all. They just said we'll see what we can do. The next day I got an email notification of the shipping info. Received the replacement package Friday. To be honest, don't expect much from USPS, they could care less. And FedEx, don't even get me started with them :-x but the vendors want your return business. But as I said, I've had many, many packages get re routed, missent, etc, etc, just plain fall off the grid. And sure enough they appeared. Believe me, I know it's easier said than done when people say don't worry about lost vape mail. But my bad experiences tell me they will show up :thumb:

This is not about vape gear, but it's still related to the topic.

I ordered an item from Amazon recently via USPS, and I was following the tracking progress, and a few days ago the tracking said "Delivered in/at mailbox", but I have received no package at all. I live in an apartment building. It's possible that somebody stole it, or maybe the mailman delivered it to the wrong mailbox.

If the package doesn't show up on monday, I am just going to file a claim with Amazon, for an undelivered item, and I will request either full compensation or for them to re-send the item that I purchased but never received.

Any business that would attempt to absolve themselves from the responsibility of those rare times when a package doesn't make its way to the intended recipient is someplace that I wouldn't give my business to anymore.

Supposed to be one of the best places to order batteries. They actually test the batteries they import for authenticity and have always alerted customers whenever they feel they have accidentally sent out counterfeits. It happened once with fake VCT4's -- they sent out an alert to everyone's e-mail and started a reddit thread about it. They took all the fakes back and either reimbursed or sent out real ones from a new shipment. I can respect that kind of transparency.

It seems authentic batteries are getting hard to find -- of any brand. So I wanted to buy from the most "reputable" vendors who know batteries and try their best to spot counterfeits.

I think the USPS gets a bum rap.

I also collect fountain pens. I've done probably 150 pen deals that went mostly USPS. I'd say for me anyway, they run about 99% getting there just fine, even if late. Yes, I have seen some bizarre gyrations in tracking before, but the item almost always arrives.

I have worked at the call center for one of the largest gift citrus fulfillment centers in Florida. I have seen instances where the PO went far beyond the call of duty attempting to make deliveries they weren't even "required" to make (outside of their delivery area). It was common for PO's around the country to call us when they absolutely could not resolve address issues. We would resolve them and call the PO back with a mobetta address. They could have just as easily not called and it would have just been assumed the item was just missing...

I have also had stuff massively delayed, I called the main PO number on-line, initiated a trace on it and mysteriously the item resumes it's travels to me.

We American's have it good. Ours is one of The Cheapest, Most Dependable Postal Systems in the world. Fountain Pen Network has members from all over the world. The U.S. postal issues Pale to those in other parts of the world. For example, Italy, one of The Most corrupt PO's on the planet, good luck getting Anything Postal Italia touches. Ever notice on Fleabay when sellers list to where they Won't ship to? They aren't just being hard asses, those are areas with horrendously undependable postal systems. (Often past Eastern Block countries there.)

If I have one gripe about the PO it was a couple years ago when they more than Doubled the cheapest Overseas small package postage. At the time we had a fountain pen Loaner Program where we would send a vintage fountain pen to FPN members to test write with for just the postage. The overnight doubling + meant that we had to stop overseas loan outs. (Though we still had loaner pens in country in a few other countries than the U.S. for loan outs Within those countries.)

A good bit of the USPS funding issues has ZERO to do with how it is run, it has to do with how they are required to fund their pensions up front that no other federal agency has to do. I'm not saying None of the problem is USPS, it's just not nearly as hosed at the $ end that is often reported.

Even countries close by like Canada get raped with VAT and other added duties to overseas shipments that we in the U.S. don't. Recently, I noticed A LOT of Casio G-Shock watches that were Nearly New going for More on Fleabay than the same watch could be had for new from Amazon. WTH? I thought. They only thing I could figure was there were people overseas buying them to save the VAT taxes from buying one new. (Easily 20% of the new retail price.)

Really, two days late is not lost in the mail. Considering how much mail they move, they do a pretty good job. It seems this company has a good reputation and if the package doesn't arrive within a reasonable amount of time, will make good on it. Waiting on vape mail is a PITA but at least it's not coming from FT.
