Well I lost my Provari, it has disappeared. Than to top it off my smoktek 6V and 3v Box Mods both stopped working after around 6 months. Luckily I have my trusty Ego Twist Backup and a Ego Style E-Cig that takes a 14500 battery so I'm still vaping away.

So you ask, why didn't I buy another Provari. The Provari is boring they haven't innovated with Variable Wattage and the unit is so expensive that when you lose one it really hurts. I think that the competition is coming close and the units that I bought are on the 2nd and 3rd revisions. I also don't like that I need to use a Ego adaptor to vape with my Kanger t3 [Clearomizer of Choice]

I went with the two for one approach. Buy two Mods for less than the price of the Provari. Seems that both of the Mods have just come down in price and added features. I didn't buy another Battery Box Mod because I'm tired of the cheap looking battery box. The wooden ones are outrageously priced.

So what did I pull the trigger on and why?

The first one I bought was the sigelei zmax V3. Hey when the VMax and the Zmax were around $120.00 it didn't make sense, spring the extra and go for a Provari but now that they are in the $70.00 range that makes them a contender for Value. Please don't confuse the Sigelei with the Smoktek Zmax, everyone says that they are very different.

The Sigelei had great reviews and the one deal breaker which is that I couldn't use my Kanger t3 has been fixed on the latest revision. Busardo gave it a rock solid review, it was even heavier than the Provari and is supposed to be a solid unit. I'm excited to play with Variable wattage vaping. I also have plenty of 18650 batteries and chargers so my cost is only the unit. I like the one button approach. I had a bad experience with juice leaking into the up down buttons on a Lava Tube and literally having the unit smoke on me.

The second unit is the Itaste MVP [New Ego Threaded Version]
It's a classy looking box mod. I like box mods because they don't roll!! The drawback is that it's longer than the little battery box mods that I normally use. It also has limited voltage only goes to 5v. I vape organic VG Liquid at 4.0v to 4.4V on a 2.4 - 2.8 Clearomizer. I've standardized on the kanger T3 which is supposed to be 2.4 but according to my Provari is around 2.7 or 2.8 ohm. So the Itaste MVP will be fine for my needs. It's supposed to last days on a charge, guess I'll find out.

You are probably thinking why didn't I order the Vamo. Two reasons. 1 was that it has the extra buttons and the second was that the reviewers didn't think it had the quality of the Zigelei Zmax.

The units should arrive around Friday and Monday. By the way I bought them from Vapor Alley because they had the latest revisions. They shipped the Zmax the next day.

Love my z max..Except my t3's won't fit. Not sure why. I bought it thinking they would but they don't. Supposed to be v3. I do have 1 t3 that will fit with 1 certain head. But the myriad others I have just won't. The t2 fits fine but no airflow so won't vape. Hope yalls work. Not sure why mine doesn't have the clearance. Kanger Evod fit fine though. Other than that after 2 months this z max is a quality piece of equipment.

the sigelei zmaxs are great just take one precaution, dont drop the batterys into the tube and dont use over sized batterys,if the battery cap is at all tight dont screw it down. the positive post inside the tube is just lightly soldered to the edge of a circuit board like a T (top of the T being the + post). it is a very weak connection and breaks very easily if you are not extremely gentle with it so keep that in mind when loading battery's. otherwise it is a great device.

When did you get your Sigelei? They have done several updated and have addressed complaints about the battery pin.

Inner gasket/seal was still in the version 1 production updates.

Latest Sig Zmax has a 16mm wide drip well and will freely accept kangers or most any 510/ego device.
Second Gen is almost identical but has a 14mm well opening.
Someone also noted 8 dimples on v2 6 dimples on v3 I believe, but haven't been able to confirm.

ETA - Confirmed latest version as of March 2013

This is the one I just bought Vapor Alley, and I'll have it on Friday and will update this thread if it really can work well with the Kanger T3 and if it'll accept full size 18650 batteries [don't' have limn] without using an extended cap. These are the two improvements that I'm wondering about. They are also part of the reason I pulled the trigger on the Sigelei Zmax Rev 3

They specifically described it
" Both are the latest versions (as of March 2013) and accept the Kanger T2/T3's without the use of adaptors."

That's why I bought at Vapor Alley and didn't shop for lowest price.

2 for 1? So when they both stop working whats next?
I know what you mean about the Provari....Boring, it just keeps working and working--probely will last forever. I know I will grow tired of it someday...lol:)

The best part about the Provari is that you can send it back for repair at a reasonable price. China just sells you a new one. It adds up.

That's not me being a Provari fanboy as much as it is just a statement of fact. I'm actually planning on buying a Vamo (or something else) just for a good backup. So far, after a year my Provari is still working pretty much like day one in spite of being dropped on concrete multiple times.

I just recieved what I believe to be is a V3 ZMax from a recent coop here. I can confirm they do in fact have eGo cone threading and Kanger T3s and MT3s fit perfectly.

thats great news was wondering if they would have the treading or if they just made the drip well larger might have to order a new one, then again i have barely used the new one i got, after getting two new provari's everything else seems to be collecting dust.

Well if ya do pull the trigger on another ZMax, and this really goes for anyone, I'd ask them specifically if it has the eGo cone threading and if the Kangers will fit before ya buy it. Don't just go by V1, V2, V3, etc... With all the different versions out there right now I'm sure even some of the vendors don't know what they have.

Sorry, this made me chuckle! "I'm sure even some of the vendors don't know what they have." Like that's something new:ohmy::laugh:

The Provari may be more expensive, but the quality and reliability is leagues above anything coming from China.
According to the PBusardo Reviews both the Segelei Zmax and the MVP are quality units

Guess in 6 months I'll know if I made a good investment. I can sense that China is on the point of matching Provari in quality. They've already surpassed the Provari on features.

Hope I'm right.
