Well I lost my Provari, it has disappeared. Than to top it off my smoktek 6V and 3v Box Mods both stopped working after around 6 months. Luckily I have my trusty Ego Twist Backup and a Ego Style E-Cig that takes a 14500 battery so I'm still vaping away.
So you ask, why didn't I buy another Provari. The Provari is boring they haven't innovated with Variable Wattage and the unit is so expensive that when you lose one it really hurts. I think that the competition is coming close and the units that I bought are on the 2nd and 3rd revisions. I also don't like that I need to use a Ego adaptor to vape with my Kanger t3 [Clearomizer of Choice]
I went with the two for one approach. Buy two Mods for less than the price of the Provari. Seems that both of the Mods have just come down in price and added features. I didn't buy another Battery Box Mod because I'm tired of the cheap looking battery box. The wooden ones are outrageously priced.
So what did I pull the trigger on and why?
The first one I bought was the sigelei zmax V3. Hey when the VMax and the Zmax were around $120.00 it didn't make sense, spring the extra and go for a Provari but now that they are in the $70.00 range that makes them a contender for Value. Please don't confuse the Sigelei with the Smoktek Zmax, everyone says that they are very different.
The Sigelei had great reviews and the one deal breaker which is that I couldn't use my Kanger t3 has been fixed on the latest revision. Busardo gave it a rock solid review, it was even heavier than the Provari and is supposed to be a solid unit. I'm excited to play with Variable wattage vaping. I also have plenty of 18650 batteries and chargers so my cost is only the unit. I like the one button approach. I had a bad experience with juice leaking into the up down buttons on a Lava Tube and literally having the unit smoke on me.
The second unit is the Itaste MVP [New Ego Threaded Version]
It's a classy looking box mod. I like box mods because they don't roll!! The drawback is that it's longer than the little battery box mods that I normally use. It also has limited voltage only goes to 5v. I vape organic VG Liquid at 4.0v to 4.4V on a 2.4 - 2.8 Clearomizer. I've standardized on the kanger T3 which is supposed to be 2.4 but according to my Provari is around 2.7 or 2.8 ohm. So the Itaste MVP will be fine for my needs. It's supposed to last days on a charge, guess I'll find out.
You are probably thinking why didn't I order the Vamo. Two reasons. 1 was that it has the extra buttons and the second was that the reviewers didn't think it had the quality of the Zigelei Zmax.
The units should arrive around Friday and Monday. By the way I bought them from Vapor Alley because they had the latest revisions. They shipped the Zmax the next day.
