HOW TO: Make NEW LV Orion Q 1.0 Ohm pod reverse compatible in Orion GO!

May be there can be a firmware and/or software update for the Go so that all three coils can be used.

I do MTL and and build with stainless at or above 1 ohm and vape at 20 watts and 420 F on an older rda. Am I right that higher ohm coils are more energy efficient at my lower watts so more battery life?

Does anyone know if the Orion battery is a generic size (potentially replacable), or custom made for the device. If coils were rebuildable and battery replacable the Orion might be a device that keeps working for some years regardless of government interference.

Part of the hobby for me is stealth. When I started vapying 4 years ago I wanted a small device. At the time it was the original eGrip with rebuildable deck. It was a failure for me because I couldn't control leaking. I tried an Evic Basic, another failure because the battery is defective. I'm thrilled to see the pod trend. I've got an orion, Nautilus AIO, and a Minifit is on the way from China.

For stealth my everyday all day carry, original Pico, worked okay but it had to go in and out of my pocket for every stealthy use because it's a bit to big to hide in my hand. The Orion stays hidden in my hand. My Area 51 for stealth is Walmart. The Orion is invisible if I pick the moment and exhale little or no visible vapor, even in the checkout line. So far, vaping in public is about being considerate and discrete. The pods are making it far easier.

Maybe air adappters like in merlin mtl for example...

Info about battery from LV:

Support 15 times discharge

43*25*10mm

(950mAh)

Input and output line is 22# silicone line: red and black line length 41±2.00mm stripping line 2mm

I found simillar in the web, but smaller capacity.
Kinda looks like they forgot something smilee. :(

Just got my Orion today and it is such a gorgeous little thing I have to say. Extremely well thought out and crafted, I am saying that even though my one came with a defect.

The springy protruding pins that comes out from the mod and makes contact with the pod, one of them is stuck under the hole that it is meant to pop out through. I tired probing it to get it to pop out but that did not work.

I then unscrewed the two screws that hold the plate to the body where the holes are for the pins and it did pop out. However secure plate down and pop pod back in then take pod out the pin is back to being stuck. This has even been the same result even if i back off the screws and leave them loose to varying degrees.

The silver lining is that it does still work and the coil fires and everything at least for this pod have not tried others. I have contacted the retailer I purchased it from to ask for an exchange as obviously shouldn't be like that straight out of the box. Have looked online at local b&m's and I think I found one nearby that may have stock in the option I am after so will check them out tomorrow while I wait to hear back for the RMA process.

Turnigy Nano-tech 750 mah NE-BA931 will fit perfectly in an Orion.
But only 750mah. I saw a 950max with right dimenssion but only in catalague, without price and buying pissibility.

I measured capacity of battery in orion and its real 950mah.

I even thinked about upgrade orion - magnets door and replacable battery with contacts like in old school phones. ;-)

Ok the talk about replacing the battery in this thing is really grabbing my interest.

I’ve liked my Orion, but have decided I REALLY ENJOY it, now that I’ve got the 0.25ohm pods.

At the lowest setting (“white” light), I’m getting such a good vape from it...so much more than with the 0.5ohm coils.

And I’m not even using Replay! Of course, that’s also partially because I forgot how to engage Replay, and I’ve been too lazy to look it up.

Anyway...

This thing has been an “on the fence” device for me, and still is, even with the great experience from the 0.25 pods.

The reason has always been the battery.

I can’t imagine having to toss this little guy when the battery croaks!

But, since y’all have been chatting about replacing the battery, I’m realizing that (duh) I could probably save my Orion from the inevitable death knell of an expended captive battery!

Hold the selection button down for about 2 sec. or until led turns green. Green unless you changed the led color for replay.

Been using it for 2 weeks now and I love it. If it isn't on me, its always close to me.
I have though noticed twice that it floods. It happened both times when I refilled it. Today again, I took out a new pod...filled it and left it to soak. When I wanted to fit it, I noticed that the coil chamber was at the same level as the tank. Bit annoying have to say. I laid it on its fire button side for about 30min, hoping the liquid will flow back into the tank, but it didn't. I eventually had to close the AFC, open the fill hole and blow the liquid back into the tank...
Been wondering, is there maybe a spesific way to fill it?

I had thinned out the cotton in a new 0.5 ohm pod and had the same problem. I went old school when refilling it. I leave about 1/8th of an inch (or a bit less than that) from the top, catch the first thread of the fill hole screw, flip the pod to where the air bubble covers the wick and finish screwing in the fill hole plug. I can pretty much gear the air escaping or bubbling out. There may still be a very small amount of juice in the coil chamber but it is much less than I had before. Hope this helps.

With a new pod, i'm sure it has to do with the new cotton that hasn't expanded yet. I think when its new it has a little gap that the liquid seeps through. Once the cotton is completely saturated and expanded, that gap is sealed.
The silution I see, is to fill it, let it rest on its side so the tank is at the bottom and the coil chamber at the top until fully saturated...that's the theory anyways. I'll do that next time and see.
Its all working fine now.

Learn to use the Replay mode. It's giving me a great throat with half the power and vapor of my traditional mods.

If the battery is a standard size it's likely to be available from some supplier a couple of years from now when it might need to be replaced. An electronics repair place might be able to get one for a reasonable price from one of their suppliers. They can save time by watching one of the several teardown videos on youtube. If the leads need to be soldered, well, that's the skill you're paying them to have.

Another thing to find out is what screw heads they are using so the repair guy can be sure to have that as well as the battery before starting the work. It's probably one of the torx or security types to discourage teardowns.

Like you I would vape more on my Orion, and may be get a couple of spare mods, if I was confident about builds and batteries.

Started getting dry hits with my first .5 pod today. Pod life does seem pretty decent though. I ran about 30ml of Diy juice with a pretty high amount of flavoring through it.

I truly hope odis design puts out their rba for this thing soon, but based on what I've seen of some of their other projects I'm not holding my breath.
