In EScribe my sweet spot for flavor is:

.5ohm - 11W/2 Boost, Warmth 3
.25ohm - 11W/2 Boost, Warmth 4

I've only been using these settings a few days. So far, currently have 3 refills on .5, and breaking in a .25 now. Compared to my previous settings, the improvement in taste is night and day.

Greetings, friends.

I write text reviews in the Russian language, in particular, carry out the disassembly of the devices.
I think it will be useful for you to read these photos of the orion q disassembly.
Unfortunately, my English is far from perfect, but I hope you'll excuse me.

Before you start disassembling Orion Q, you should consider whether you really need it and whether you have the appropriate tools.
First of all, these are screwdrivers. Housing is fixed with screws Y2, Torx T5, Philips 1.5

All photos are linked to the full-size version.

As a result of disassembly I got this pile of parts:

First of all, I recommend to remove the front panel, it is attached to the Y2 screws

Be careful with the tongue that fixes the cartridge, remember how it is installed.

You can then remove the other side parts of the case, including the top part, which is attached with two Philips 1.5 screws

Side covers, under which the battery is held simply on the glue, they are easy to pry and remove.

Next to the batteries are laid out screwdrivers, which I used when disassembling.
The hardest part is getting access to the Board.
It is located under the plastic cover fixed on the latch.
I managed to remove normally only the bottom, the top, unfortunately, was damaged.
But outside it will not be noticeable.

I hope you find these photos and comments interesting.

The device was provided for review by the VapeSourcing store

Hello everyone! I joined this forum because I found this discussion the most active and the most complete on Orion Lost Vape. I read all the pages and decided to buy the version with DNA. Here in Italy has a cost of about 75 euros, while the pods 8.99 euros. I have been a vaper since 2013 and have tried various systems during these years. Lately I've tried some mod pods, but I have to admit that this Orion is the best one and from which I can not detach myself. It is very comfortable, light, not cumbersome, has a quite satisfying yield in its limits. Use in Mtl, almost completely closed air, pod 0,5, base 50/50, nic 8. Supreme first pick n.4. It's perfect!View attachment 794123
I've been using the same pod since I bought it, I think I've made about 100 ml, and it's still good.
Ciao @MattVape
I'm also very pleased with my Orions.
Where in Italy are you?
I've spent a month each of the last two years in Roma.

How many refills in a week? Which pod do you use? And what is your power, boost, and warmth setting? I was just playing around with using for the 0.25 pods with power 6/8/10, boost 5/4/3, and 5 for warmth. Although I just started to try this last night and I think it is going to work out well for pod life. I'm on the third refill now.

1. Roughly 7-10 refills in a week
2. .5 pods. I just bought new pods yesterday and got 2 .25s and 2 of the new .5s
3. I run on the white setting with air flow almost closed, usually use replay. I have never used the software for my DNA GO, so stock. Should I play with it?
4. Most importantly, I vape tobacco/nut and custards.
5. After roughly a week, I start getting the burnt taste in the background of the flavor.

If I could get better pod life or rebuild, I would absolutely love the Orion. I like everything about it otherwise. I sort of vape between MTL/DL, varying how I vape depending. I asked the shop owner about pod life when I went to get some new ones, he suggested menthol or mint/spearmint flavors. Not happening. I would vape flavorless though.

Hi JollyRogers. Yes getting that burnt taste is very common with these pods. As the cotton burns way too easy in these things. I noticed they tend to burn a few puffs after a refill. Yes I would run EScribe software and make a few changes if you want longer pod life.

The Orion has wattage and boost settings to work with without Replay. And that boost is nice as it quickly heats up the coil when you press fire. Although this feature is what I believe burns the cotton. So I turned them all off. Under EScribe, there are two profiles(?) called DL and MTL under the General tab. That is probably confusing, but it really means .25Ω or .50Ω pods. So you can change each individually.

When using the default wattages. I zero out all boost for all wattages for both .25Ω and .50Ω pods. When you use EScribe, remember to download the settings from the Orion (and do a File -> Save). And when you are done making changing with EScribe, remember to upload them back. Your Orion tends to be left in lock mode when you upload, so 5 clicks to get it on again.

And when using Replay, it uses wattage and warmth settings. I slide it down to 1 (you can't go to 0). And making these changes increases pod life. Although instant warm up won't be there so much. But using the default wattage settings, it doesn't take long to warm up the coil.

I just started playing around with wattage the last few days and I wondered how low I can dial the wattage and still get a satisfied vape. The lowest I can go for me is 6 watts for both pods. At 4 and 5 watts, I can get a little bit of vapor, but not a satisfying vape. At 1, 2, and 3 watts there really isn't any vapor there to speak off. Being at this lower wattage, it takes too long for the coil to warm up. So I turned up boost and warmth again. It is too soon to tell if the pods will really last the longest. But it is doing well so far.

When using boost and warmth, say a setting of 5, will increase the wattage setting more than double the set wattage. This is the biggest cause I believe that burns the cotton. When using 6 watts, I have seen the wattage start off at 13.5 watts. But within a second it will drop back down to 6 watts. I am hoping 13.5 watts isn't enough to burn the cotton, but time will tell.

Another thing, .25Ω pods seems to last 2 to 3 times longer for many of us. Another thing before making changes with EScribe, download from the Orion and then do a File -> Save and name it something that you will remember this is the default settings. So if someday you really mess things up, you can reset it back to default settings. Hopefully you have lots of things to try and start enjoying longer pod life. ;)

Hello again.
I upgraded the cartridge for Orion Q a bit, the winding around the air intake holes of PTFE tape is pre-cut into two pieces in width.
After winding, cut a small hole in front of one of the air intake holes.

The taste has become much more intense, the air supply has become much easier to adjust.

Is there information about disassembling the cartridges and replacing the wick in them?

Nice tweak! While I like the new AF adjustment ring it is a bit loose. Adding the teflon tape provides a better hit and easier, more precise AF adjustments. I don't think this tweak is necessary for the older pods...they're not loose like the new version. Thanks for sharing!

I opened it up and this is what the cotton looks like. This is after 4 refills. Not a overly sweet or dark liquid either (50/50 Hangsen no 5 with 1% AP). 15W on replay.
I'm currently down to 10W and on the 3rd fill. Fingers crossed.

Exactly, thus why if you want longer mod life, you have to tame it with EScribe.
