Wow bummer TheCatDaddy. I don't know what to say? :(
I know it’s been a minute but here’s an update- the problem is definitely that it’s a very sensitive bugger. It will short oh time and again when plugged into anything that’s not a wall. I was doing a fair amount of traveling over the past few weeks, and two different b&m’s that I visited had at least five returned units on hand.
Jaybo’s workaround definitely does the trick tho, and the prob hasn’t dissuaded me. Although it’s still a little buggy, I like it. A lot.

I haven't used one yet, but where's the problem with the dt? Just too loose?
so far about half of my pods have had the DT break on me. they get a little crack on the side and then won't stay on. My orion just sits in my shirt pocket while I'm at work I drive for a living so they aren't getting roughed up or anything. Some broke when relatively new (one was on the second fill) and some lasted for a while so I can't figure out whats going on, but for the price they should be sturdier.

Got mine from Breezy, and another on the way. Once it got here I thought it looked familiar. It's a Reo Grand mini-me:

Just got to goofing around in Escribe and saw a setting under the "Mechanical" tab with a drop-down menu to select "Button-Activated" or "Automatic". I set it to automatic and uploaded to the mod thinking it would now operate by just taking a hit - but no-go. Maybe a feature on future hardware or firmware?

Honestly, I like having a button, but wouldn't hate an "automatic" option. Anyone else tried it?
