Greetings all.. Alan here

I have many questions and I figured this was the place to do it. a few for now.. more to follow as I think of them.. I will be picking up my first mid range kit in about a week.. for now I an using the V2 system.. much like the rest of the analog looking e-cigs to me are nasty. anyway... here it goes lol

1. I have seen people using low-res cartos, ect. on high-voltage devices on youtube like GrimmGreen... But I have also heard that doing so will burn out the coils. Conflicting information that is necessary to know before I buy anything.

2. propylene glycol.. Is it safe?.. I mean it is used in anti-freeze and I have heard it can be toxic. (but not as toxic as analogs.. lol)

1. It varies. Keep in mind that Grimm has a ton of experience, so he knows how far he can push things. You may also be confusing high wattage with high volts. They are not equal. Generally speaking, if you push voltage too high on a LR atty, your results are going to be less than pleasant. :)

2. Unless you are allergic or have a sensitivity to PG, it's safe to use. They use it as the base for asthma inhalers. ;) Not all "anti-freeze" is toxic. Salt can be used as an anti-freeze. ;)

I love a lot of vapour and so I do not mind trashing coils after 3-4 weeks. I use dual coils anyway. The price is so cheap compared to smoking whats 2 atomisers a month.

I find 50/50 best. I cannot tolerate 100% of either VG or PG.

Not vaping anything is best. But if you need nicotine, PG is a hell of a way safer than breathing in smoke fumes.

You could be right as far as watts, but I have just viewed a video earlier today and they used a 1.8 ohm atty on a 5v device. I am terrible at electrical stuff like this so it just raises some concerns. As far as the PG goes.. That makes sense. Thank you

LR atty's can be used on any device just if you are using a variable volt mod then just be sure to not run it to hot,
as far as the antifreeze thing what they always fail to mention is that it is used in "non toxic" antifreeze not the regular stuff.
Here is some reading on it:) What is Propylene Glycol?

Thank you for the link.. I was not aware that it was used in so many ways. Very informative :)

A device capable of going up to 5 volts? Or did they have it set at 5 volts? Because you're now pushing in excess of 13.5 watts which is a bit excessive, IMHO.

Unless, that is, they're driving a dual coil atty, in which case, I'm not sure how that works out. I'm sure it's much lower overall. So while we're on the subject, can anyone enlighten me? Does the wattage equation actually work out to be the sum resistance of both coils? (3.6)

edited: So apparently (if I understand this correctly), with dual coils, you split the wattage. So a 1.8 ohm dual coil running at 5 volts would come out to about roughly 7 watts per coil, which is reasonable.

I am going to go ahead and post what I am looking at as far as the new setup.. Let me know if there is something I am missing or any other suggestions.

Also more questions coming soon... lol

What I have been looking at is the following: (Sort of a draft of a shopping list)

(2) Ego? Vision spinner units (1300 mAH) VV
Kanger T3 Clearomizer
Vision Mini ViVi Nova 2.5 tank
HR510 (Cisco Spec) 3.0ohm Bridgeless Atomizer (For tasting juices)
Juices - Not sure yet.. Looking for a good Tobacco (menthol or regular), Black Cherry, Peppermint.. Also willing to take suggestions.
A carry pouch or case of some sort.

Thank you for any and all input.

I am not sure if it was dual coil or not.. again.. electrical is beyond me.. lol.. but it did sound excessive. also not sure if it was set to 5v or that was the max.. sorry

Looks solid to me except your dripping atty might be a tad high in resistance for a Spinner. Just my personal preference, but I'd get the same atty in 2.5, maybe even 2.0. (Don't forget to get extra heads for your Nova and T3)

for juices, you're going to be sampling lots of places for a while. so order smaller bottles (less waste if you don't like it), then reorder larger bottles once you know you like it. Can't really go wrong with Heather's Heavenly Vapes for juice. Mt. Baker is good (and affordable) too. There's quite a few juice companies with large fan bases here. The ones with very large fan bases are that way for a reason. ;)

propylend glycol is used in the medical field. It's in my rescue inhaler and also my breathing treatments. It's in hand lotion, toothpaste, all sorts of things. They use in in antifreeze to make it less toxic.

Good point as far as the atty resistance.. I was looking at a graph floating on the web about safe vaping that covered any desired voltage that the spinner will put out (according to the graph). Don't know if the graph is even completely accurate.

Yup.. already took into consideration buying extra heads for both.. just not on the "list" here. ;)

I think if you're going from a "mini" to something like a Kanger or Vivi Nova with one of those Spinner batteries, you'll find that you have a lot of good performance out of that setup.

You'll need 2 batteries, so you can rotate them out. One charger. At least one delivery device (you've chosen 2, the Kanger and the Vivi Nova... both good devices) and around 50ml of sampler juice to start (that last bit is my own preference). You can get samplers from a lot of juice vendors, and they range in size from around 3-6ml bottles.

The Kanger clearos are "ego" threaded, meaning they should made a nice flush fit with the Spinner battery. The Vivi Nova is 510 threaded with a flat base, so you will probably want to get a thread sleeve, like this:
eGo Thread Sleeve Type C Large Tank - Fits All Std eGos CHROME [gv-egoTYPEC-LargeTankeGoThreadSl] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

*edit* if you're getting a mini Vivi Nova, the appropriate sleeve is the smaller one heh

Officially stopped smoking as of midnight.. I am not making it a resolution, I am doing it for me. I have come to terms that the only way I am going to get healthy is to stop.

Presently I am using the V2 e-cig. However in about a week (I keep saying that.. lol) I will be making a purchase of the mod & accessories that I have chosen. To reflect back on my list.. I have decided that I will go for a lower ohm atty.. 2.0-2.5 instead of 3.0, Thank you Ray D for the suggestion.

Now I pretty much know what I want.. But would like to know:

As far as single & dual coil... Which is better?. lol, i'm just curious for the setup that I am getting. I may end up with a couple more accessories, so I would like to be informed.

thanks all & will let ya know what I get when I hit the shop. :)

The list again (subject to change if they don't have something in stock):
(2) Ego? Vision spinner units (1300 mAH) VV
Kanger T3 Clearomizer
Vision Mini ViVi Nova 2.5 tank
SR510 (Cisco Spec) 2.0 ohm Bridgeless Atomizer (For tasting juices)
A carry pouch or case of some sort.
Possibly a "Carto" Tank
A couple juices w/ low or no nicotine
Possible sleeves for cosmetic appearances, Thanks noi_max
