Long - I'm sure. I understand this being in limbo thing... I'm sure there are a lot of things running through your head right now. I'm hoping they are able to relieve his discomfort at least somewhat.

I thought about you today partly because there is a stray (apparently) cat roaming around here. I take my cats outside with me to play a little but they stick around and then go back inside with me. Normally they get irritated when they see another cat but with this one they are just curious and watch him/her. The cat won't let me get near at all. It sits and watches us, and we watch it. The cat showed up late in the winter and was in very poor shape. It is looking better now so I wonder if someone is feeding it. I'd like to do something about but I'm not sure what. I'm not sure if it is feral, was a pet, or what.

Lisa - try canvassing the neighborhood to see if anyone knows anything about it. You could probably get a trap on loan (with a retainer) from you humane society or animal control. Trap it and take it in and see if it is already fixed or not. Don't try to touch it if it is hissing, growling, etc. It can take your hand off in a minute. jmo...
