Ugh, DD & GD decided yesterday wasn't enough and spent all day hanging out here;
I was so looking forward to a nice quiet Saturday
Guess I'll just have to get to bed early tonight.

Some came from other kids getting in and out, but she figured out real quick she could lean over the side and grab the grass.

8-o THE EXPLOSION!!!
That explosion is nothing! I bought like a $10 sky rocket when I was a teen (that would be about $20 or more today). It had a huge, very long stick on it, and the rocket was tremendous. I stuck it in the ground and lit it. My best friend and I backed up some and waited. Fizz, large hissing and spitting as it should have taken off, but it didn't budge. Then BOOM!!!
Something was wrong with the fuse system, and the dang thing blew up on the ground, at about eye level. All kinds of sparklies and stars flew out of that things in all directions... with some of them continuing to make more sparklies, curly-q's and booms. It would have been beautiful up in the air, but that was pretty scary. No one was hurt or even burned in the slightest. I guess we were far enough away.
I haven't thought of that in years.

Sort of kidding there. Neighbor let one off by us and my ears were funky for days. Never been the same either.
