I was my mother's mother's favorite for much the same reasons. I lived with her for about a year, or maybe longer, while my older brother was sick. We both cried when I had to go home. But I still got to go over most weekends for a long time. Then my danged younger sisters started getting old enough that they wanted equal time, and I had to share.
I can imagine it must have been hard.

Her daddy has three children by another woman and they now have custody of them all.
Instant brothers and sisters can take some adjustments. I hope she is doing well with it. She prolly needs lots of hugs and kisses (and support) from Gran.
