Well I've seen it now :(

And it just ticks me off!! Our government keeps selling its citizens out to the highest bidders....right now, I am guessing the highest bidder is big tobacco! I say ban the FDA....it really does nothing but cowtow to the lobbyists....just like the rest of our self serving, living for the moment, who cares about the country's future, government.

Term limits....we need term limits, amongst a myriad of other reforms.

Government.....:glare::glare::glare::glare::nah::nah::nah::nah::nah:

Oh boy. The idiot bureacracy prompted by big pharma and their mercernary lobbyists are trying to get their greedy little claws on e-cigs based on obvious ignorance .

This part illustrates how stupid those people are:

However, there's not much scientific evidence showing e-cigarettes help smokers quit

How many members we got here? Just shy of 20,000!

Evidence. Obvious yet ignored by the stupidocracy of the Draconian mechanism of hyper-legislation!

And of course, they throw in the "it's for the children" bullcrap to try to manipulate the natural protective instinct that humans have.

Here, look at the wisdom of our founding fathers:

If we can but prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy.
Thomas Jefferson

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
Thomas Jefferson

Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.

Thomas Jefferson

These are my comment's to my thread mate's over there ------>

the move is aimed at eventually taming the fast-growing e-cigarette industry.

Any further rules "will have to be grounded in our growing body of knowledge and understanding about the use of e-cigarettes and their potential health risks or public health benefits,"

Why didn't they do that ^^^ when cigarette's came out? :grr:

However, there's not much scientific evidence showing e-cigarettes help smokers quit or smoke less, and it's unclear how safe they are.

Guess they're not famiular with ECF

Tobacco company executives have noted that they are eating into traditional cigarette sales,

And there ^^^ is the real problem

Hello, Beach Babes and Buddies. :)

Thankfully, my grandfather is still sharp as a pin, mentally. So it is a good time when I visit him. I just have to make my .... get in gear to get ready to go out

    Hiya TinkerBabe.

I think it's so great that your grandfather is 97 and doing as well as he is. Sorry about the pneumonia and I hope he recovers quickly from that, but it's so great that you can still enjoy visits with him. I fully understand the hermit thing, believe me... I don't get out unless I have to now. But the memories of the good times with my grandparents are precious. Enjoy your visit with him, and I wish you more good years with him.

Guess I better get going, before I talk myself out of it. I hope you have a great day!! See you later this evening.

I'm so glad you are going today.

Hummm ... seems like there are more and more of you "bachelor's"

    Are we that bad?

No, but why is it that all the ladies I'd want are taken?

Morning beachers! I took a long nap it seems, I haven't posted here in a year and a half

    Hello, Rumpelstiltskin. :D

I'm VG. :) Do I call you Pater, or what?

Nawww, we love ya, but a wise man waits to find a good fit :)

Life is a precious gift meant to be enjoyed with those who bring you happiness. Ne'er a minute should be spent doing less than savoring those fleeting moments of bliss with a good woman, reciprocally of course ;)

    :?: Isn't that what I said?

It loaded for me, but I'm not sure I want to see it. My head might explode.

    ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Yup, no need for me to read it now!!!

My guess is the biggest reason behind this FDA thing is the loss of tax revenue from declining cigarette sales....that and the increase of number of vapers is telling them ecigs are working. Of course, they will never admit that!

It may also be working into a ban so they, or until they, can figure out how to tax them. Look at alcohol in the late 1920's early 30's. I don't think it has much to do with lost taxes from cigarettes, because Big Tobacco (BT) is buying into them and selling them. BT bought Blu and NJoy, and maybe more that I don't know of. I've never been able to figure out the angle, and I'm thinking it has more to do with taxation.

I've also been told (by someone I trust) that the FDA will come out with these kinds of statements, and then never actually do anything (and there's an actual history of that). Do I think I need to stock up on supplies? YES! Do I think the FDA would actually force such a ban? There's no way to know.

It all seems pretty stupid to me, and the "Tobacco company executives have noted that they are eating into traditional cigarette sales," may be part of the lobbying, but I still think it's more about taxation.

This Yahoo write-up is fairly decent, if you can read it without getting upset about it and jumping to conclusions, raising fists and flying into arms. But it's a write-up from Yahoo's perspective, and/or the Associated Press. One would have to read the actual FDA Proposal to know what is really proposed.

The only proposed ban I saw (in the write-up) was on the sales of e-cigs to minors, and I have no problem with that. Requiring approval for new products could be a good thing, if done right, and health warning labels would not bother me in the least. Cigarette marketing has been controlled for a long time, and I don't really have an issue with controlling the marketing of e-cigs. What I'd have a problem with would be banning their sales and use to adults. A limit on the highest nicotine level in something like USP Nic to a level of 36mg/ml would mean that we could still DIY our own. It would only limit sales above 36mg/ml. Eventually, we may be able to have public use bans lifted, with enough good info. But if one wants to see no limitations at all, I really don't think you'll ever see that. As long as we can get the things we need, and a reasonable amount of things beyond that which we want, then we'll be OK.

    The article says . . .

The FDA said the public (that's us), members of the industry, and others will have 75 days to comment on the proposal. The agency will evaluate those comments before issuing a final rule, but there's no timetable for when that will happen. The regulations will be a step in a long process that many believe will ultimately end up being challenged in court.

So here is yet another chance for us to submit our input. We need to find and read the actual FDA Proposal, and make some intelligent and accurate comments to it. Those comments should be deliberate responses to point out how e-cigs have helped us, and not knee-jerk reactions with name calling and flames. If you can't do the 1st, then you probably should not do the latter. But that's me.

    Hey y'all :D

    Here's my sweet grandfather :) Incognito ;)

We (Paw Paw, my mom, and I) had a good visit. Then mom and I went out to lunch. Now I need a nap

ps. The mask is to protect him from the pollen. It is very thick here in NC.

    Hey Tink.

Glad you had a good visit with Paw Paw. My mother's parents were Maw Maw and Paw Paw, too.

Hi, Tink.....so happy you went to see grandpa.....we will all be in those shoes someday, if we live that long. :) When/if I get there, I hope my family cares enough about me to come visit.

If not.....may they rot in hell. :D

And the FDA was just the beginning of my angry day.....went to pick up cat insulin at Walmart....and now it is $230. This is a tiny vial....it is 10ml. Makes my juice bottles look huge. In four years, it has increased from $80 to $230. This just makes me want to puke....if the FDA wanted to do something really beneficial, they would be investigating this blatant raping of its citizens. My cat gets 2 units a day....how much would this cost a human who would get a lot more than that?

    Drug companies.......:glare::glare::glare::glare::glare::nah::nah::nah::nah::nah:

OK....all ranting over, back to my demure self.
