Hubby just makes it dirty!
Honestly if I'm gone for a long time, he does pretty good about keeping things clean.
Son has come, son has gone.
He tilled the garden area.
I'm telling ya...spouses are messy! Or maybe it's just women. Everyone one I was married to was a mess. They leave stuff out, drawers open, closets open, crap everywhere...kitchen messes. Laundry in various stages of doing itself. 
I can't nag my 19-yr-old into mowing the field (he has been told he has to do it today!). If he doesn't have it done by the time hubs gets home, I may have to leave the house for a little while
Mowing the field? What is the field for? Do you grow hay or beans or something? 
But...been married for 30 years this time so...the failed ones could not have been MY fault!

It is grass… but not up near the house. So hubs doesn't really try to get a lush lawn up there. But it still has to be mowed. Hubs is planning on coming home early enough to mow the yard (around the house).

I don't mow any of my fields. I didn't even mow them when I had horses(people used to try and tell me I needed to so the horses would graze...what?). Doesn't sound like it NEEDS to be mowed. Let it grow all natural! Then build a big ole fire circle in the middle of it and mow a path out to it. That's what I did with one of my pastures. 
The house always looks nice for company.....but lurking in the drawers and behind closed doors, slobovia reigns. I mean you clean it....and it needs to be cleaned again the next day....so why not just do it every other day to begin with? Saves a lot of wasted energy.
It only takes about 15 min to mow (on a riding mower)… if son would just get his lazy azz out there and do it
Nah, that wouldn't work here. While we are not in the city, we are in a development. The field can be seen from the road. I'm sure it is not as big as the fields you have
Oh...yeah. I have three 5 acre fields. Lots of trees. You can't even see my house from the road. I...I couldn't live in a development. I have to live where I can walk out on my deck with a beer in my boxers and shoot my gun if I want.
