Hell if I know! We both have possession of our cards! OP is where I live. Last year somebody got my cc number when I bought my computer at BestBuy and spent over 3K with it.

You should be able to put an alert on your cc. Everytime a purchase is made, you get an email advising you. You can set parameters where anything over a certain amount you get notified via email.

They did it trying to use my cc. I don't ever use a bank card. Ever. And I haven't used an atm in two years. If I need to deposit checks or get cash I go in the bank. I do need to get one or two cards to load for travel only.

I also have an Amex Serve card. You load it with money and use it like a regular cc. One of the big reasons I got it was for cash advances. There's over 24,000 places you can use it for cash advances and there are no fees. It gives you all of the protections of a regular amex card.

That's horrible, but I figure you were able to reverse the charge.
