Love the sweet e-liquids BUT they turn new coils and wicks to crap,,, quickly.

As of lately my favorite all day vape would be Peanut Butter, top choice being Vapergate's MFPB.

In a decision not to pay the exorbitant prices of Gourmet e-juice I started my quest to find and create the recipe to this delicious liquid. It seems like I nail it with my DIY version, when a day later the flavor goes off.
I add a drop more Sweetener, Peanut Butter, Toasted Almond or Cake Batter to my tank in hope to fine tune the flavor. It all seems to go in the wrong direction, ( mainly the direction of the garbage can. )

This morning I had a [ DUH ] moment. I thought to change out the coil. After pulling the top off the Kangertech stock coil I saw that it was gunked like I've never seen before. When I dismantled the coil, not even torching the Kanthal wire remove the crap off the wire. After the torching, I scratched it off with a small screwdriver, uncoiled it, rewound it then re-wicked and set it back into the tank. The flavor and vape production were spot-on.

All my time learning the tricks and trades of vaping and all of the sudden I realize the juice is perfect, the coil and wick are not. ( I'm starting to wonder if at 56 dementia is setting in. )

For those that don't rebuild coils and use them for a long extended time, they must be missing out on the full flavor their e-liquid can give, also to mention the vaper production and overall vape satisfaction.

Bottom line is, the sweet juices I love gunk-up the coil and wick rather quickly. If I didn't enjoy the rebuilding / hobby part of vaping, it would be pretty costly to be fully satisfied with vaping.

NOTE:
This is one of the main reasons why drippers say they get the best flavor from their e-juice,,, they get to see the coil and wick condition every time they drip!!!!!!

Ooh I agree. The most delicious flavors gunk coils fast. I'm having to burn mine off and put fresh cotton constantly. But it's worth it for me.

Wakonda from Nicoticket and The King by The King's crown are my all time favorites. Absolutely delicious but coil killers. I've made my own King juice. It's a peanut butter sweet taste. Creamy sweet peanut butter and with a wafer in the background. Delicious.

Sounds like a juice I would like to create.
Is it listed on a DIY e-liquid recipe site, or can you post here the ingredients and percentages.

Mine was that way also until I started using unflavored and putting just a drop of flavor in.....my coils last forever now along with the readyxwick. It lasts so long I had to teach hubby how to build new ones cause I am now lazy about it lol

It's really annoying sometimes honestly. No matter how much I love a juice, if it's a really bad coil gunker, I try to avoid it. I just had Teleos The Milk 2. Seriously freaking amazing cinnamon toast crunch and milk flavor. After like 10ml at most, I had to rewick and dry burn. So I doubt I'll buy that one again. I'm looking forward to getting my Stash Eliquid order, if it ever shows up. Supposedly really good juice and does not gunk up coils.

I've found even a dirty drip tip can affect flavor. Swapped one out on my iclear16 once without changing anything else and was like whoa! That's better! I love the sweets too because it keeps me from eating sweets and I've found that if I don't feel like replacing the coil or wicks that running a few tanks of plain menthol through helps to remove some of the gunk. Probably the same result as running unflavored until there's no taste anymore. But alas, there truly is nothing better than a fresh coil and wick.

I just completed re-coiling and wicking a new 5 pack of the Kangertech stock .5ohm coils.

I find the stock coils are made sub-standard with way to much cotton packed through a 4 or 5mm / 4 wrap coil. I re-coil them with 26ga. Kanthal , 5 wraps on a 2.5mm driver (.7ohm),,,, wick lightly so my thick VG juice can flow and wick freely.

Can't burn the coil clean in these coils without messing up the positive/negative insulating grommet . But at $.05 worth of Kanthal I don't mind prepping and setting them in. Before I had purchased Kanthal, I would take them apart and torch them clean, do the prep & set.

I like having the coils ready to swap out when the juice starts tasting/vaping chitty!!
