I put my AW IMR 18650 battery on a multimeter to measure the voltage immediately after the low batt LED started flashing and it measured 3.71.
I normally get another days worth of vaping with this battery after the light starts flashing.
So I'm asking the Provape volks:

Please consider revising the logic for what determines when the low batt LED starts flashing.

I'm a "moderate" vaper, I get 2 days out of my 18650 running @5.5 volts into a 3.0 ohm Boge carto.
I'd rather see the light start flashing say 4 hours before the unit will stop working than a day.

I too would be interested in understanding what the programming logic is when determining what it is that triggers the low-battery flashing LED. Usually I see the light flashing at around 3.4 volts, but I can take the battery cap off and put it back on and often get several more hours of vaping before the LED starts flashing again.

Your light should start flashing around 3.4-3.5v but that's under-load. But gunk build up on your batteries and end cap will affect that. A good cleaning of your battery ends and some cleaning/noalox on the threads of your end cap go a long way to getting the most out of your batteries. And remember unless your testing that battery with a volt meter under-load you wont get the correct under-load charge remaining.

Funny, my son just bought a provari and has already sent it back for this problem. He got it back, but it's still doing the same thing. I think he wishes he never spent this much money on a PV. I guess it's the V2, but I don't know for sure. He using the AW IMR batteries. He said something about turning off the LED on the button, it's not supposed to flash, but it does.

yea, i'd agree... while i do know that yes, sure, mistakes/errors/problems CAN slip through with all technology products, this woudl be a pretty simple "ship it back to provape and get it reprogrammed and return shipped" and for a product like this, of this calibre, and of this PRICE, i really would expect them to handle that 100% and right away... hopefully we'll see what happens....maybe they will issue a fix?

oh, and to V8P, in actual fact, if you take the battery out before it gets low enough to stop the unit from functioning, you will actually PROLONG the life of the battery slightly... if you bottom out lithium batteries they actually end up needing to be replaced sooner. what REALLY helps with the life span of them though is to NOT charge them fully.. charging them to about 3.97 - 4.05 volts will apparently get you up to DOUBLE the charge cycles out of your battery. all defense/medical/mission critical applications using lithium based batteries use this method, ensuring the batteries last as long as possible and don't inadvertantly fail earlier than they expect/can deal with. just a few foods for thought
