Lower Nicotine Level

I have a bunch of 24 mg liquids and didn't know how harsh it would be on my throat smoking out of an alien 220. The 2 atomizers I have for it is .4 and .15 ohms. I want to smoke without choking every time. Can I buy some vg to mellow it out? And if I do what ratio do I do? I plan on using 100% VG. I don't know nothing on making my own liquids so I'm asking what I should do. Any advice I will definitely take or do. Thanks

You can dilute your 24mg e-liquids with vegetable glycerin. It will not only lower the nic level, but will also dilute the flavor.

Diluting 30ml of 24mg nic with 30ml of Vg will make 12mg nicotine.

Nicotine concentration is what provides what is known as the "throat hit", that throat harshness or kick that one gets with smoking a cigarette. The higher the nic concentration (24mg), the harsher the throat hit will be. The lower the nic concentration (3mg or zero nic), the smoother the vapor will be.

Sub ohm vaping (using coils < 1.0 ohm) generally requires dropping the nicotine concentration by at least 50% (if not more). When I first started sub-ohming, I had to drop from 12mg nic down to 6mg nic. With 12mg I got lightheaded and got a nic buzz while sub-oming.

Pg (propylene glycol), as part of the Pg/Vg ratio of most e-liquids, also contributes to the throat hit. High Pg ratios will be harsher than lower Pg ratios.

Thank you very much. I'm over here not even wanting to smoke. I went straight into the alien baby beast at .4 ohms and now I know. This forum is great I wish I would of learned before getting too far deep. Any recommendations I would greatly appreciate

24mg is pretty strong, whether you are sub-ohming or not. Typical recommendations are:

24mg = 2 ppd smoker
18mg = 1 1/2 ppd smoker
12mg = 1 ppd
6mg = 1/2 ppd

Drop the nic level down by 50% if sub-ohming.

If you are hesitant to dilute you juice ( 1st.) choice. Try a hi-resistance coil,,1.5 ohm or higher. Turn your wattage down a bit..

If you really like the flavor of the juice and don't want to dilute the flavor, you could also buy some of the same juice, but at 0 mg nic and mix the two.

I still find bottles of 24mg in the boxes. It's totally vapeable at low power with old tech devices. 7 watts (thereabouts) using an eGo pen and higher resistance CE4 or cartomizer. I enjoy the throat hit even 4 years into vaping. To dilute a lot means diluting the flavor, sadly.

you could also augment your vaping style. I like to switch back to high nic mixes once in a while whenever I'm somewhere that's not so conducive to chain vaping (black lunging at an airport bathroom for example) so there's still some utility in having juice like that so maybe just grab something else for an ADV

tsk... what ed said...seriously, if you can get it, just get 0 nic of the same flavour, a 50/50 mix should bring it down to 12.. still too much? 50/50 again with the flavoured 0 nic until you get the mix you want and no loss of flavour.

Thanks a lot, Now I got another problem My Nautilus just came that I've been waiting for weeks was all happy and filled it waited to wick and took some tokes and juice everywhere. was careful ut it back together thought I had it and again full mouth of juice. Looked it up on the net and didn't know that it had that proble now got to get another tank. Any sub ohm tanks anybody recommend?
