So I got a 510 LR atty back in November. I tried it and I hated it. The taste was bad. I did my best to blow out the primer and I vaped on it as much as I could to "break it in" It just wasn't for me.

I have this compulsive problem of not wasting anything. I have this pure VG juice I bought on the classifieds that I just cant stand. Yet I'm sitting here vaping it down so as not to waste it. I decide, hey lets toss on this LR atty that I have lying around and see what happens. Whoa! what a difference! While I still dont care for the taste, it is a lot better! So I dripped some other juices in there (applewood, wyatt earp and hypnotic mist all from FSUSA) and they were outstanding!

Perhaps my tastes have changed or sometimes you just have to find that right juice to use with certain atomizers, but wow color me impressed! This really makes me want to try out the LR 306 attys I read about all the time.

I know whatcha mean.

I hated LR's the first time I tried them. It was an LR 901. There was this acidic, over-cooked taste. It wasn't a bad atty - I had another vaper try it and they said that's how they are.

Months later, tried an LR 510. Not bad... depends on the juice. I started using those, because I was trying to get away from the perpetual buying cycle of cartomizers, and regular atties don't give me enough throat hit. And I like LR 510's alright.

Then I got an LR 306. Yup. I've found it. Great hit (not *quite* as intense as the LR 510 though), and really nice flavor.

I'm flattered to get a response from you MistressNomad. You are like a celebrity around here. I want to thank you personally for the videos you put up. They really helped me when I was just starting out.

I do agree that it really depends on the juice. I think the the heavier juices like the pure VG stuff I'm vaping right now is better on the LR.

I recall that you are an avid KR8 user. I have been a little disappointed with the KR8 cartos I have been using with a 510 adapter on my ego. It seems like its too light an airy. Do you think It would vape better on an actual KR8 battery? I've read that eGos are only putting out 3.2volts where a KR8 is a true 3.7volt experience. What do you think?

Nah, just another crackpot ECF'er. :) I'm glad they helped you, though.

My Kr8's found a new home over a month ago (due to the afformentioned frustration with their disposable nature). But it seems to vary a lot cartomizer-to-cartomizer and manufacturer-to-manufacturer.

I personally really liked VaporNine's cartomizers. CigEasy's were pretty good too. I've heard absolutely glowing reviews of IkenVape's cartomizers, but I haven't tried them.

I do notice the voltage difference between the eGo and the Kr808. It's not *huge* but I can tell. Have you tried it with the cone? That may tighten up the draw a bit.

I like the cone a lot. I think that is my favorite part of the eGo. I really like the tighter draw that it gives. I need to just get a KR8 battery and try it out instead of just trying to guess if I will like it or not. When I first started out I bought 15 prefilled cartos not knowing they weren't compatible with 510s. I think I'll have to keep an eye on the classifieds and try and find a deal on a used KR8 battery or two.

I can understand where both of you guys are coming from. I also steered clear on LR atties based on my first experience.

I pinpointed the problem. The first LR atty I tried was a HelloSmoke (or just plain Hello). In my opinion Hello atties come full of factory primer, and get a burnt taste quickly. Not a problem if you are rotating and cleaning.

Cisco atties are a whole other breed. Very clean and good quality.

Yeah I recall my LR atty (supposedly genuine Joye) was drowning in primer fluid. The bag it was in was wet all over like they dunked the damn thing in a vat of primer lol.

Now that I have vaped on it most of the day I am really really liking it. I dont know if its because my go to atty is starting to under perform (perhaps its time for a cleaning), but boy does it make some clouds! When I get some more cash I am going to Iken and getting some cisco 306 LRs and a drip tip.
