Okay, I am fairly new to e-smoking and brand new to mod and 510 LR atty. I am quite sure this question must have been asked before but as I could not find it, I ask it anyway, so I apologize if it is a repeat question, I do not mean to spam in anyway. I used to use E9 cartomizers, then upgraded(?) to E-go tank and now I got myself a woodvil mod (from reosmod). put a brand new 510 LR atty, brand new stainless steel drip tip, fully charged 18700 battery and some nicotine flavor liquid in and fired it up. It creates vapor but have a problem with the taste. It kinda taste like burnt filter, or when the cartomizer is empty and you are burning the filler, a horrible taste. I tasted the liquid before on my tank system and it taste fine. My question is: is it normal for a new 510 atty to taste like this or not? Does it eventually go away? How long does it take for this evil taste to go away and is there a way to speed it up? I thank you all for any suggestion

try rinsing out your atty with hot water and letting it dry. did you blow the primer out of it? yes, new attys can taste pretty dang awful until you get the primer out. you also need to keep it wet, so as to not burn the wick. by the way, you can use a cartomiser with the woodvil
Most attys have a primer in them. Best to blow out the atty into a paper towel, drop a couple drops of juice into the atty, let it sit for 30 seconds then add a couple more drops (or squeeze the reo bottle) and vape. My suggestion to you, is remove the atty and do these steps. Good luck!

well try following the steps krisb suggested. you can gently stuff the paper towel into the atty opening but don't twist it. repeat with different sections of the paper towel until you get no more primer coming out. then i'd follow the advice about adding a few drops and letting them soak in...it can take a little time for it to completely go away and break in.
To blow out the primer, just blow through the end the drip tip fits onto. When done, use the paper towel to clean the threads of any residue. And, no, no question is stupid...we were all new once and it can be very confusing!

What ohm atty is it? A 1.5 ohm LR atty on a 3.7 volt PT is 9.13 watts. A bit hot. If it's 2.0 ohm LR atty (or higher), NP. 1.5 may be too hot. Just FYI. 2.0 ohms is 6.8 watts. Much better. Remember V * V / R = watts.
