New to using LR cartos on an Ego. I'm guessing I'm not keeping them wet enough, as I'm barely getting 2 days out of them. I am using a 70/30 juice, and I vape pretty steadily. After about a day and a half, the cart is very hard to draw on, and just doesn't seem to absorb juice well. Would love to hear how others maintain theirs and hopefully extend the life of them a bit.

Thanks

There must be something drastically wrong.

Even running them almost dry (can't see any juice when you pull off the tank) hasn't phased my LR tank atty's.

Alternating between 2 atty's, one lasted 8 months and the other one is still going after almost 1 year ! The one that burned out after 8 months might have been totally dry since I could see no juice when it went. Now I'm better at telling when they're almost dry.

I got mine at CIGNOT for $10. Am using light 80%PG/20%VG juice. DIY with just some menthol drops added.

I rarely clean them, perhaps once a month. Using an eGo or RIVA, about 640 mah battery.

Atomizers will vary, however. Maybe you just got some bad ones.

Cartomizers not atomisers.

@OP

One to two refills. <---- That is the honest answer.

Now you will hear folks get extended service yadi, yadi, dah and some do. They were never designed for more than one or two refills, so anything you get above that is a BONUS. A greater measure would be how much liquid you ran through it. 7-10ml and you should be happy.

Some folks boil them, flush them etc... I can't be bothered they never return the same.

$2 for a carto = $0.30/day. $0.50ml 4-5ml/day = $2 - 2.50 + $0.30, under $3 a day. How did we as vapers ever become so cheap when we were paying $10+ per day for our filthy habit.

I look at performance, rather then extend equipment beyond there their usefulness.

ehh .. not sure about the one or two fills.

The only cartomizers I use are the SmokTek dual coil ego ones. Now I must say I am not a heavy vaper on them, meaning that I don't use them exclusively. Having said that, I have refilled one 11 times and it still works fine. Never cleaned it either. 100% VG too.
Everybody's MWV. We as vapers challenged to intended lifespan of cartos. That being said, because peoples expectations are so skewed, an honest answer was required.

Atties and cartos are a semi-disposable item. If viewed that way, we have no problems. I have had atties that lasted me well into 8 months (without cleaning) and have others be useless after 1-2 months. Does that make the atty bad? No, it just makes the one that lasted 8 months an exception to the rule, that is all. :)

I'm with Switched and Mitch et al here. "Still works" doesn't mean "still tastes great" to my palate - and considering how much cheaper they are than cigs I don't see that as a problem. Never could quite grasp people boilin' and soakin' and turkey-bastin' and hair-dryerin' the little buggers, blegh, but I guess frugal is always admirable. Me, I use various dual coils and toss 'em when they taste murky (1-3 days) with no qualms. Here in NY cigarettes were edging up toward 9 bucks a pack when I traded them in for glorious vaping; that was 2 years ago and I happily have no idea where that's gone. I love a fresh carto and a fresh batt and am not about to suffer needlessly. Merry Christmas all!
