I've been reading here for well over a month..not nearly as confused now as I used to be, but still overwhelmed with all the choices out there!!

I started with Don's thread (the illustrated vaping guide, which I must've read through at least 10 times before everything started to make sense to me) and branched out from there.

Like most, I ordered a Joye 510. (got it on Thurs. and have been using it since) I like it, but not in love with it. It IS however, keeping me off of the analogs. I like the throat hit, I like the vapor, I like the tobacco flavor mixed with the menthol flavor. (I'm a menthol light 100's smoker, pack a day for 20+ years)

What I DON'T like about it is the CONSTANT topping off...and the short battery life. Seriously, I can't get more than 3 good hits before it needs to be topped off again. I need at least 2 batts to get me thru a day (weekday), and more on the weekends when I'm not at work. At work, I only get 1 break and it's 20 minutes. I used to smoke 3 analogs in that time to hold me over the next 4 hours till quitting time. Now I spend my 20 minutes either topping off, or changing carts to get my fix.

I have had to resort to an analog here and there when I wasn't prepared for my battery to die...or driving my 30 minutes home in the dark and not able to see to top off the cart. (and OMG how NASTY that analog tastes now!)

So...I have been researching some more. I can't really afford to invest in a lot of different PV's right now, (single mom) so I am trying to find something that will satisfy my needs more than the 510. I want MUCH longer batt life, and a cart that will last all day or at least half a day. I vape heavy in the morning, about 15 minutes before work, during my 20 minute break, then again on the drive home.

I am tired of carrying around 3 batts, 5 carts, an extra atty, tweezers, napkins, and a bottle of juice all the time, not to mention making sure I get all 3 batts recharged for the next day. What I would like is 1 or 2 batts, 1 or 2 carts and that's it to get me thru a normal day. I want this along with good vapor and good throat hit.

I am thinking about the Vapor King from V4L, and I know everyone from there will back me up on that one...they are LOYAL fans LOL! (and rightly so) However, I know a lot of other people are just as loyal to their favorites, so I'd like to hear opinions from everyone who thinks they know of something that will give ME what *I* want.

*throat hit and vapor comparable to the Joye 510 (I use vg or a mix)
*LONG batt life
*carts that don't need topped off all the time or refilled more than once a day

As for looks and colors, I really don't care. I went for the 510 size because it was comparable to my analog 100's, however....I no longer care about how small it is. I don't care about anything other than performance and what meets MY needs. So, I am ready for your suggestions...bring em on!

I would try the blue foam in your carts and two mega batteries for your 510 before I tryed another PV.

When you are at home get a passthrough and USB wall adapter, no bats needed.

Also try cleaning the filler in the carts, dry them with paper towel very well.. Put about 6 drops in empty cart and then put filler back in, and add a few more drops. Be carefull not to overfill. Also might try PTB cart filler mod. It has worked wonders for me.

After reading through your day, I would recommend that you reserve your 510 for home use. I have the 510 titan and I do find that I like them but I also have the SD.. which is a bat MOD @ 3.7v and it last for eight hours but you still have the top off issue.

What I would truly recommend because of no fuss and muss.. but you will have a little wait time for it to come to you because these are custom. You need to get a Juice Box from Carlos49.... This thing is great!!! It holds 8 or more mls of juice( no topping off for days.. Unless you just want to switch out flavors) and it runs a high MAH battery that will give you days of run time, as well. Welcome to the forum, Cathy.

I'm probably the least qualified person on the planet to give you my two-cents-worth, but hear me out... please.

To the best of my knowledge, the Janty eGo utilizes a model 510 atomizer. I received mine last Tuesday, and couldn't be more pleased with its performance. Throat hit/vapor production is fantastic.

Having said that, the cartridge size demands that one “top it off” after every 10-12 deep draws. To me, I don't see this as being a dealbreaker, but your mileage may vary.

As for battery life, the 3.7V units that arrived with my eGo kit are incredibly long-lasting, and I am very, very impressed with their performance.

This is my first PV, so don't take my word for it. All I can say is, I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever in investing in this unit and, despite the need to “top off” the cartridge every once in a while, this Janty eGo PV has proven to exceed even my wildest expectations.

The vapor king is just a kr808d-1. There are a lot of vendors that carry it. That said it is a great on the road ecig. Carry a spare batt and cartomizer and your safe all day. Low maintenance, no dripping..simple change out the carto when empty.

I got tired of the same issues with my 510, then I liked the DSE801 but only for dripping. Then I got the "Chuck" which is a beautiful battery mod but quite big and has it's place but...

Then I went with the KR808D, which you can purchase from various vendors. Personally I am happy with V4L, they cover all my needs, I enjoy the forum and they have great customer service...I LIVE on their passthrough at work and home, take a couple (only need one really) XL batts and a couple cartomizers (which you can refill many times to make them more cost effective)out with me when I'm running around...

That cartos should last you all day (I say plan two of them...no dripping, and even when you refill, you can get many analog's worth of vape from them). Dont quit before the miracle happens! Kind regards, Kimberleigh

Instead of a story I'll simply tell ya what has worked for me with the minimal effort and expense for several months.

Joye 510 atomizer
AdapteveR at 3.7v
Standard 510 cartridge with the following filler modification.

Bottom half, furthest from the atomizer, Blue Foam
Top half, immediate to the atomizer, common poly-fil
Coffee stir stick straw up the side.

The AdapteveR with 16340 batteries provides an extremely solid, simple battery for the atomizer of choice. I use the 510.

An average charge on a 16340 in good condition will supply all the power the 510 atomizer requires for me to go through about 1.5ml of liquid. This type of charge duration with a 510/16340 combination will be comparable regardless the mod used.

Please note when looking at device opinions that I stress the amount of liquid used per charge. That metric does not change regardless if it takes me 4, 8 or 24 hours to use the 1.5ml of liquid.

The particular filler mod I prefer requires me to top off the cartridge every 7 to 10 draws.

When vaping only and away from the house for the day, this requires I carry:
1 AdapteveR
1 spare atomizer
1 spare charged battery
1 3ml bottle of liquid.

This does not not address your desire to top off repeatedly during the day. For me this is a minor detail compared to what was involved when I smoked. It takes as much time, if not less, to top off the cart as it does to light a smoke.

While I do really enjoy the KR8 series from V4L, for me, it has been more expensive to use - even with refilling the cartomizers. So if operating cost is a choice factor, you might want to consider the RN4072 Penstyle e-cig. It has very large carts and batteries last far longer than the 510 batteries. It produces tons of vapor and is outstanding for flavor. It's my personal favorite e-cig model.

I have to throw in my vote for the Janty eGo / Totally Wicked Torpedo (both the same device, branded differently). It uses the 510 atomizer and cartridge which is something you already have, lasts 8-10 hours without a significant drop in production, and is simply a "no fuss" device. I would personally suggest dripping as it is much easier to simply pop out the cartridge every 10-15 drags and put a few drops in. I use a small glass vial with a dropper to carry my juice and drip. With the atty cover on the eGo/Torpedo, it's mess free as well.

Also might try PTB cart filler mod. It has worked wonders for me.

It's made a world of difference for me as has rotating between two 510's to allow the liquid to actually wick down to the atomizer after a couple of hits.

I have to concur with Munson, and I'll go even one step further: Even without using the eGo's atty cover, direct-dripping, in my experience, results in no leakage of fluid at all.

The design of the eGo is very well thought-out. Kudos to Mik for doing his homework.

I love the 510 with the spring mod. I know it's on this forum somewhere on how you do this. My hubby did it for me. It lasts all day at work for breaks and lunch. Get a Bartleby, Chuck, Indulgence, whatever for batt. life. This has worked best for me! You'll be really confused by the time all of us give you suggestions!8-o Good luck on your quest!

I forgot to say it lasts me around 3 hours at home without filling it. Works great as long as the poly filler is not too thick. Hubby says it is called the ADM mod. Look in the cartridge mod section and the user name is scottyballs!

When I'm at home, the battery usage doesn't bother me. I sit here at my desk and have the charger right here. It's on the road, or at work, or if I'm out and about for a day that I don't want to have to lug everything around with me.

Even with brand new carts, I can't get more than 3 good drags. And I hear ya on the overfilling thing...already been there and done that LOL! Although it didn't taste really bad, it sure was unexpected and quite potent LOL!

If I had been able to try vaping before I actually invested in products, I would've definitely bought the juice box right off. Before trying it though, I had NO idea what it was like. I expected it to be pretty much just like smoking, and couldn't even fathom the idea of "smoking" anything that tasted like food! Now that I have vaped, I am getting ready to order some flavors other than tobacco and menthol!
