Hi there, and thanks to all for all the interesting reading here. I'm now 2 weeks into this whole thing and haven't had so much as a single craving for an analog. Anyhoo, I'm loving my m401 and 402s, but I found out the hard way about auto batteries and live music when on my first day, I took the 401 to my band's gig and the battery completely discharged and nearly burned my pants off! So on to the question: I got a manual 402 battery for these situations, but the switch seems to engage briefly with the slightest touch, way before it clicks. It only stays on for a couple seconds, but I figure if it keeps lighting up as it bumps around in a pocket, it would defeat it's own purpose. Is this super-sensitive switch normal?

I have an auto and manual and work outside, I used a pentel mechanical pencil clip and slid it onto the battery. I clip my ecig to my shirt, doesn't get bumped as much and I don't have to keep looking for it either.
My manual does light up if I bump the button lightly, it doesn't take near as much pressure to activate my 401 as it does to activate as my 905.

cg, sorry to have referenced a different ecig. My M401 manuals activate when bumped but I can not get them to activate without actually feeling the click of the switch. I bought a couple M401 autos and they activated all the time unlike my M402 autos which are not overly sensitive, I even use the 402's on the motorcycle without a problem. I was concerned about the M401 autos activating unattended and my supplier exchanged them for the manuals I now have. Maybe you can contact your supplier about an exchange, perhaps you got a bum one, I'm sure it happens occasionally.

I'm pretty convinced now that this is a defective battery. It doesn't always seem to recognize when it's on the charger and has to be removed and re-connected to start charging. It also never indicates that it is 100% charged (orange light blinks) even after 8 hours or more. The charge doesn't seem to last a half hour with light to moderate use. I've e mailed the seller, so we'll see what he says.

Well, I had already ordered a few other batteries, including another manual and they arrived today. This manual behaves the way I thought it should. The supplier said to send the defective one back and he'll replace it as soon as it arrives, so, all should be well for the price of postage. Interestingly enough, with the same order as the defective battery, I had ordered 2 5-packs of empty cartridges, one set black, one set tan. I just noticed tonight that the tan ones are 4 or 5 mm longer than the black ones. I'm not sure the atty is reaching the filler enough on these, plus, they won't fit in the case I just got with the new batteries. Just weird.

Hey paisley, nice of you to be helping out the new folks. :)

I have reg size and XL carts. I love the XL's cause they hold 30% more juice. To make them fit the PCC just cut off about half of the rubber cap w/ a razor or knife of some kind. Or, whatever works. That rubber is easy to cut. But, still be careful.

To carry an extra atty in the PCC just use a reg sized cart.

Joe, all I can say is "duh." I didn't think of cutting the PLUG. That'll eork nicely. Thanks! Also, you are correct that it's good of Paisley to help out. Thanks to both of you for reading. FYI, Shawn at Litecig is sending some more short carts with the replacement battery, and I can't say anything but what a good guy he's been. Great, fast, attentive service.

Cyb, glad I could also help. It took me a few days to think of cutting tha plug. You woulda thought of it eventually. :~) And yep, Shawn is super nice! You got lucky to find such a good supplier so quick. I think you will be glad he sent you those XL carts in the long run. They hold 30% more juice.

One other thing that might help. I use a T top pin ( a hat pin will work but they sell the T pins in the sewing section at Wally World ), a bit thicker than a regular straight pin, to pop up ( but not all the way out ) those cart buckets. Then I stick the pin between the filler and the bucket, and drop the juice down the pin. The pin also helps get the juice way down to the bottom, and keeps me from missing the bucket. I do several carts at a time and it's a snap. Pop tha buckets, fill each one, then use the rubber stopper ( an uncut one ) to push the buckets back down. Sometimes I get on a roll and fill 10 at a time.

These carts are a bit more trouble to fill than some but the 40x has great flavor. Well worth it to me.

Thanks Papa for joing in about the XL attys. I knew it was you that told me about them but I haven't had time to find the link to your post, work has been kicking my .... lately.
And CG, it won't be long before you no longer think of yourself as a noob and have experiences that will help others, it's hard to believe Papa and I have only been here a few months. This is a great group and there is alot of helpful information here.
