Congrats on the Ego purchase. I am very happy with mine. I also came from an automatic 4081 setup, so the Ego is a pretty obvious upgrade. I can't say that I'm a fan of the tank system as I've had a lot of problems with the wick/feeding system. I do however, love dripping with my ego. I found that pulling the wick out of my LR tank attys makes them great for dripping. My Type A drip tip fits perfectly and the LR models and vape like a champ. I'll let you know how the LR 306 works next week. I hope you like the Ego as much as I have.

I started with a ego-tank-type kit and was dissatisfied with vapor/maintenance/flavor. As has been stated, this is affordably changed to atomizers and cartos. I agree with the suggestion of the Boge LR 2ohm cartos. Great balls of vapor! Tasteful, too! I have since bought a second ego kit and won a free Riva EM kit. Differences are: I have 1-1000mah batt (with proprietary finish), 1-650mah batt/passthru (propietary finish, 2-650mah batts (SS finish), 2-1100mah batts (matte black). I can make it through a long, full day of heavy vaping on a single 1100 and 650 battery.

You made a wise, informed choice. Invest in those Boge LR cartos, and you're set! I get mine here: Boge 510 Cartomizers (5 Pack)

Well I would actually start with the regular one as doormouse suggested.

My wife likes the T and the T did indeed get me off of cigarettes, but there are some fiddily issues with it.

I am using the mega atty and cart, some dont like it, I do, but again that is something that should be an alternate that you try after you start.

I would purchase the regular unit, I wouldn’t buy a whole lot of extras on day one ( you don’t need them ) the regular unit ( atty and cartridge ) and the batteries that come with it will get you started, later you can try cartomizers, or even the tank if you want to, or the mega's like I use, or LR atomizers or everything else mentioned here.

But My advice would be to get the regular unit ( not T ) and some juice, after a week or so of that you will know a whole lot more about what else you might like to try, bigger battery, LR atomizers or what have you. Everyone’s journey on this path is different, they like and don’t like different things... to start, I would start small and grow from there from a base of at least a little experience.

My advice is to spend less, just get the kit and some juice, you can always add to an eGo system later, quite inexpensively.

but that is just me :)

Well, I did it. A brand new Joye eGo is on the way along with some liquid...Winston 11mg. Thanks to all for the support and advice. The vendor actually talked on the phone with me. I am comfortable with my decision.

hello vapor GOOD BYE ANALOGS! Not expecting miracles...just better health and more disposable income. No problem with that adjustment.

you won't be disappointed with the joye ego. i bought a kit, tried it out loved and then my niece wanted to try an ecig - so, i gave it to her. (i agree with the many here, the ego is the best starter kit). needless to say, i am now going to be purchasing another one -- maybe i'll even get to keep it this time. or perhaps i should just buy 2 and not have to be without an ego again.

Just a suggestion but, you might want to get at least a little liquid at a higher nic. You're making a bit of an adjustment learning to use a PV. There's no need to starve yourself till you get that down. I'm down to 12mg now but, the first week or two it took 24 to keep the crave demon in check. I still use a little of it in a drip tip at times.

I like mine. It hits great. I typically only use my box mods or roughstack, but added an eGo to my collection so I could make a proper recommendation.

The eGo has:
Great price point
They work well from what I've experienced
510 connection so you can use almost all acessories out there
Kits come with 2 batteries
Sleek looking

If you don't care about looks though, you can always consider a 3.7v box mod from MadVapes (get a pre assembled one).

Welcome to the family.

Not expecting miracles...

To me the funniest thing you said was this.... hang onto your hat, for me it was a MIRACLE!, 2 weeks into vaping and I strongly preferred vaping to smoking by an unbelievable margin.

If you have tried to quit before, and struggled with it, you are about to be blown away

I couldn't agree more. I've tried quitting analogs cold turkey, lozenges, and the patch.

Cold turkey I lasted about 5 days before caving. Lozenges just burned my gums, and didn't really seem to do it for me. And I was allergic to the nicotine patches I could afford, not to mention I STILL wanted to smoke, just for the fixation.

The longest I've gone without a cigarette since I started, was 5 days, when I quit cold turkey. Yeah, it's kinda sad.

But since I got my PV, and had my first puff, I haven't touched an analog for two weeks, two days now. It really does work out for me.

Not to mention, I prefer vaping over smoking!

2 weeks after I quit, I tried a cigarette, and I almost got sick, dizzy, tasted terrible, 3 puffs and I put it out and when to find my eGo, I am stunned at how well this has worked for me.

Agree with everyone else. The Ego is a great PV. I use the Ego-T myself, and after over a year playing with a 510, having to constantly charge batteries, fill carts or drip, I love it. It is a little fiddley (is that a word) compared to a normal setup, but once you get used to it it's great. I suggest just ordering a T atty and some empty tanks to try it out. Worst case scenario you don't like it, then you can pull the needle plate and just use it for dripping. Good luck, you'll be nothing but happy.

JRD, in the ECF library there is a whole series on "the wonderful world of vaping" and in there cover, styles, hardware, suppliers models and everything. You can also go to the suppliers forum and review all kinds. welcome.

Might want to look in the mods forum as well.
