Hi, finally got around to signing up. Anyways a coworker of mine ended up picking up a Blu and I took a hit off of it and it was tolerable. Better than gum or the patch imo. So I started looking around for an ecig of my own and thankfully found this forum. After some lurking I decided on a Joye 510 from cignot.

Today is my first day without a smoke and I can't decide if I'm getting too much nicotine or going through withdrawals. I'm a two pack a day smoker and I'm using a 26mg juice from cignot and vaping relatively lightly.

What strength did you guys start out with? How much were you smoking.

Thanks

HI, welcome to the forum. I was smoking about 3/4 pack a day of Camel Filters (sometimes straights, NEVER lights) and now I vape 24mg juice constantly unless both of my hands are busy.

Don't try to smoke it like you smoked cigarettes though, you have to cut the urge off at the pass. Don't wait until you have the urge to smoke; vape before the urge strikes. That's what worked for me. 26mg should work for most people (would make most people sick actually, so if it's not making you sick it should be fine)

Just remember; your body is used to a lot more chemicals than just the nicotine that you are getting from e-cigs, including MAOI's. So it's not uncommon to still have some mild withdrawal symptoms even though you're vaping enough. You can combat this a couple of ways: #1. vape A LOT until the urge passes (that's what I do) or, #2. smoke and vape - people do it all the time, as long as it doesn't make you sick it's fine. Eventually, the smokes will start to taste gross to you and you'll tire of them. #3. invest inn some snus to tide you over when you get those smokers urges; it works, and it's not smoking, and they really aren't bad for you (they have those MAOI's you're missing)

good luck!

Wow... thanks for the info. I still smoke at work on my breaks and lunch. I have decided to try using my ecig full time and see how it works out... This is the first time in 2 weeks that I have gone all weekend and have not smoked a cig. I have a pack on my night stand but have not touched it.. :)

If you start getting lite-headed or little loopy might have to adjust down in the nic. First 3 days are the hardest I think, just because you have to re-adjust from ciggs. I used to get up every morning at 5 am and start my coffie and lite up a smoke, now I still do the same but the smoke part, hell even sometimes forget to Vape first thing in the morning...

It's such a great feeling :w00t::w00t::w00t:

Thanks for the reply. I actually tried vaping while I finished up my last pack yesterday and it made me feel horrible. I smoke about two packs of lights a day but even when I had tried the step one equate patch it made me sick but I was fine with nicoderm which is a different compound. If I used the step two equate I was fine. Not sure what to make of that since I'm no light smoker. I have some 18mg juice coming from strictlye-juice tomorrow. So, I'll see how that works out.

I'll give the snus a shot. I quit with Camel Snus for a few days a while back and didn't have any issues. Thats not a bad idea if I get stressed out at work as a last resort.

I continued smoking for the first week while I was still adjusting. Quitting wasn't my main priority, but vaping grew on me pretty quick. I kept my analogs around for work (just in case my 510 decided to act funny). At home, I had all the time and patience to get used to vaping and learning how not to flood my atty.:oops:

When I started vaping, I started with 12mg nic juice. I still felt the urge for an analog every so often. Then I got some 18 and 24mg nic juice and haven't had an urge since.

Having an analog once in a while isn't a bad thing if you are still adjusting to e-cigs. Soon enough, I'm sure you'll just toss the analogs in favor of vaping.
