Made My First Batch But...

It tastes great but has very little throat hit. Yuck!

I used 70/30 pg/vg with a little root beer flavoring by watkins. Haven't ordered flavors yet and just used something that had safe ingredients. I really wish I could get good th. I'm throwing this out and waiting until I can get better flavors ordered. Should I order anything special for th? I don't need the nicotine but I'll consider it if thats the only way.

if you have a variable voltage mod, higher volts can lean towards more throat hit, higher pg can lean towards throat hit, higher nic can lean towards throat hit, top coil tanks like a vivi nova gives warmer vapes leans towards more throat hit

Don't throw it out yet! Put it in the cupboard and revisit it after a few days to a week, or more. It may just need time. Some of the symptoms of not enough steep time is decreased th, no vapor, flavorless, or flavor disappearing after the third vape or so. Give it some time. Welcome to DIY. Don't get discouraged so easy, you'll get it. Its like growing corn, patience. Good luck !

You could try a little pure grain alcohol, but as a last resort imo. If you don't need the nic, ie ... never smoked, don't do it. No sense getting addicted to something you were not addicted to in the first place. Thats just crazy just to get some th.

Made a little 6ml batch of bubblegum today, 66% vg, .5ml flavor and 1.5ml 100mg nic pg base, and was surprised what a great throat hit it has, vaping it straight out of the flask with no steeping just stirred.

Thanks I'll take a look at a vivi nova. I'm new to this and was recommended a $30 ego ce4(?). I've looked them up online and even though mine isn't labeled with anything, I think thats it.

And thanks for telling me not to throw it out! I'll give that a try. I'm scared to death of mixing my own. Following rules closely!

Yes, I got a real dry throat from it. I like 70/30, but everyone is different. Stick with what you got for now before spending a bunch of money on eq. One step at a time. Then go for it. Just my 2c.

Honestly the reason I'm afraid is because the vg came from tractor supply. I get anxiety from thinking of inhaling something that is put in cow's food. Just hope its ok. If that's what my ejuice supplier is using, I shouldn't be worried.

That's probably PG from Tractor Supply. That's what I and many others use here. Nic is the TH. Higher PG or a hotter coil can accentuate it but nothing can replace nic for TH.

Just tried vaping another sample after it sat for a few minutes and I'm actually getting a little th! I should just relax. I smoked cigarettes for 35 years so I should not worry about this as long as I keep things safe and read ingredients.

I have noticed throat hits vary with the flavor (Brand) as well. I am sure it has something to do with the PG carrier for the flavor. You may wish to try another brand of the same flavor.

So will capsaicin, but I find those to be more irritants than anything.

Except for a good hot chicken wing, I run away kicking and screaming from anything 'hot'. You're right on the money about capsaicin. That belongs in pepper spray, not juice imo. Some people like it, God bless em.

That's exactly how I felt when I started vaping and making my own juice. Nice thing about DIY is you can set your nic level precisely where you want it. Seems most folks "taste" for nic naturally diminishes over time.

Congrats on your Watkins juice. Of course there are stronger flavorings, but I hear that Watkins Root Beer is good. To me, anything that tastes good is a success. You can always add nic. You seem to have plenty of respect for the safety aspects of mixing. Do lots of reading on here and have fun.

i have a sensitivity to pg. 50/50 after a day my throat closes and my uvula sits in my throat. its ugh. lol for a throat hit. if you use pg flavors. if not super concentrated at all use up to 19% flavoring. use vg based nic to get desire mount. do about 6-7% pga ( i use svedka) cause its cheap. but everclear if you can get it. the alcohol thins it out like water would. but adds a minor throat hit. depending on how its added.
