Magma Clone

Yep
Limited Air openings

Magma is a Flavor RDA. If you are going to Chain Vape maybe try 1.0ohm total resistance or higher.
I run a single at 1.4ohm

Ah I see, but it seems to produce even more vapor than my Stillare which should be producing more vapor due to the bigger air flows and ventilation which is why I'm a bit confused here. Is this Stillare a better performance when it's at the low sub ohms like around the .2s?

OP, check your figures and wire gauge. I used Steam Engine coil winding app Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators and with 28g Kanthal on 2mm mandrel it shows 4/3 wraps for 0.6 ohms - not 7/8wraps, something is off there.

28g-2mm-7/8 wraps comes out at 1.2ohms.

(unless you are running dual coils)

i have my magma at .3-.4 right now and yes it gets hot. threw on a delrin drip tip and it helped a bit. personally i've been getting better flavor with the .3-.4 build than .8-1+

Hmm. I have been running mine around .45 and it's pretty warm. I thought that the flavor was being muted so I was going to build a single coil around 1.0 ohm and see how that works.

Yeah, the Magma is single/dual coil so he definitely must be running duals.

Same. I was at .40 and went to .62. It's been awesome flavor but i wanna try what everyones raving about at about 1ohm on single. Just wrapped one in 26g came out to 1.11 lol... it's gotta be lucky or something! Shoved that sucker to the deck (not touching of course!) and will wick and report back after dinner.

Decided it's time to pull the trigger and check mine in Dual Coil form.
Snatched the 1.4 out dropped (2) 28ga. 7/8 wrap 2mm coils in.
Reading .67ohms
3mm off the deck
50/50 DIY Strawberry Ice Cream @ 1mg

Plenty of Cloud and great Flavor.

Now I'm starring at 4 excellent RDA's just built and 7 Kayfuns - All loaded and ready to vape

I like to chain vape as well and I did recently get a Magma and the first build on it was at around 1.0 ohms (dual coil) and i did like it. Nice flavor nice vapor. Then i dropped it to like 0.4 - 0.5 and to me it was way too hot a vape even with the largest air holes which got me thinking that these guys are crazy for going that low; in terms of the temp of the vape (not safety). Maybe I still have to graduate into the sub-ohm club and acquire a taste for a warmer vape but it is just too much for me ATM. Apparently I prefer a cooler vape experience. I still have a lot of playing around with it to do to get it dialed in for my tastes.

Hahaha! ...., i wrote an impression post last night via the iPad on the couch... looks like i didn't post ?

Ok here it goes...

So i'm a dripper guy, first and foremost. I'm not a cloud chaser, i could care less. I just want my flavor and a nice throat hit. Started with the Magma at a usual dual 26g .40 but it was too hot and moved to dual .60 ohms. I was getting great flavor but it was a little "airy" as i find some overly warm vapes (depending on air inlet) can get. I've heard from a lot of other flavor hounds that a single coil around 1.ohm is where its at with the Magma.

Tried a single 26 gauge last night that came to a resistance of 1.11 (lucky coil lol). It is about 2.3mm in diameter (forget how many wraps) and I have it maybe 1-1.5mm from the air hole. Wicked with Japanese organic cotton with a nice fluffy strand long enough to just make it to the bottom and wrap around the back 1/4 of the well where an opposite wick would go. I'm impressed. The cooler vape works really well with the amount of airflow you get from the single coil mode. It's def much less air than you're getting in dual coil afc set-up... but the flavor is MUCH more concentrated and more dense in my opinion.

I'm vaping Seduce's "Snake Eyes" (from site - "Our most complex snake yet! Banana-Cinnamon toast cereal, in the signature cream base with light coconut.") in it right now and before i wasn't getting much else but Banana. Now i can taste more of the cinnamon and coconut creme base. It's honestly giving a more "true" representation of the juice.

I've been switching back between the most open airflow hole (slightly restrictive lung inhales) and the smallest (tight mouth inhales) and i actually dig both! The mouth inhale small hole REALLY concentrates the flavor when you take a real long slow pull... it's tasting like a Kayfun on steroids. The largest hole is vaping more accustom to a regular dripper but a more room temp, dense vape almost double the flavor as my .40ohm dual coil build.

For you flavor guys, i can't recommend this enough!

I can't speak to the FT copies but i have the Infinite clone and it's quality is stellar. As good if not better than the original.

I've got a FT Magma. The one titled "1:1 clone / stainless steel". Looks spot on and I've had no issues with it at all except form the center post being a bit to long, not allowing it to sit flush on some things but I've had it modded into a bottom feeder so that's been resolved, wasn't a big deal to me anyway.

Just checking FT out again an it's still showing packaged with the black box which mine came in. The newer Black, Brass and Copper AFC versions also show the same box so it's likely the same maker. I personally wouldn't hesitate with any of those.

They do have a cheaper version that I'd be weary of, little feedback, phillips post screws and showing a different box it's packaged in.

I had to spend some $ with FT the other month so i just went crazy and got maybe 20 different drip tips lol.

And hell yeah... hops are a beautiful thing! I brew and grow my own hops, have some Columbus that are looking amazing so far this year.... my Centennial's died unfortunately lol. Mmmm, think i'll grab a Sculpin from the fridge after i eat :toast:
