I have seen several threads regarding issues with the Magma rda, and this is my take on the subject. I addressed the issue with minor leaking out of the air holes and the weeping behind the air control ring.

If your Magma is missing the o-ring behind the air control ring, add one from your kayfun spare parts. This ends the juice getting behind the ring. I modded my Magma clone's deck with a vertical mill / small rotary table & dremel in my home machine shop. This ends the leaking through the air holes from condensation. The end result is the way it should have been made in the first place. No more annoyances. As long as I never over-squonk, all is perfect! {It's a bottom feeder now}

Machining was done with a .125" end mill. Rotary table was set at .300" off center on X axis and about .070" depth of material was removed. :)

Sweet, Johnny!
My mill is out of commission right now ('cause I don't got one :( ), so had to do the syringe thing. Can I be nosy and ask if this was a clone or an original? And how was the hardness of the medal? Were you able to just use HSS bit? Again, beautiful Work!

Thanks for the kind words. :) This is a clone from FastTech. A regular high speed steel end mill was used. Only .010" was removed on each pass with coolant spray so the hardness of stainless steel was not an issue. A .125" end mill is the perfect size to pull this off, IMO.

It would have been very possible to enlarge the air holes before doing this, but for my needs, the Magma has more than enough airflow. :2c:

Any idea how to do this without a mill? Can you use a mill bit in a drill press and a drill vise or is that pushing the limits ive never attempted that but I do have a friend with a drill press I could use if I ask.

This can be done with just a dremel tool, provided you have the correct bits. It takes longer this way, but the end result is the same idea- to eliminate that flat area around the air holes for juice to build up on...........

With just a dremel tool, you can achieve excellent results. Here is an image of someone that did just that. He must do port/polish jobs on race engines for a living. :)

Wow, just wow. More impressive work. I have a dremel and grinding set (plus misc). But stainless is hard stuff. Do you think a grinding set would get the job done, or will I need tungsen or diamond bits? Cutting oil?

For the parts that I dremeled on mine, I used diamond burr bits. The stainless steel is not hard. Seemed pretty easy. A cheapo Harbor Freight bit set is what I used.

O-ring visible in last pic with airflow ring removed.

I can't help but wonder why Magmas are shipped without these in place or any replacement ones included!! :confused:
