Hello Just received my original DID from MMVapors. Let me start off by saying WOW! I love this thing! :D Much easier to rectify hot spot issues than any other RBA I have tried. Beautiful machining and polish.

I'm only having one gripe, and I haven't found the answer. So I'm giving a shout out to see if anyone else has this.

Im using the SS tank filled with 50/50 juice.

I'm getting juice residue on the outside around the top cap that usually shows just above and a bit below the knurled ring between the top cap and tank. What I think is happening is that the condensation in the top cap is traveling down the threads and out the bottom of the top cap. I know its normal to get some condensation around the air hole but it shows all around the cap, even the opposite side.

It's not alot but enough to need to be wiped so you dont get juicy hands. Oh and i'll have it freshly wiped after I take a couple puffs and it's sitting vertical and it will be like that when I return to it.

It's a very minor issue but I was just interested if anyone has had this with theirs or maybe my cap doesn't sit as tight. dunno

Thanks for any input

I have two mmvapor DIDs and they have never leaked. The only time I get any juice on the outside is when refilling and maybe some juice gets on the side and needs to be wiped off after screwing the cap back on. My only advice is to post this question on the DID thread in the Euro suppliers forum. Anytime I had an issue, those guys were quick to jump in and solve tell me what to do. :)

I have 2 DIDs. A standard and a Short. They're great pieces. But the one disadvantage to the threaded cap is that there is no liquid tight seal between the cap and the platform, coupled with the fact that these things have a huge wick hole, and they wick so well. It's why some manufacturers have chosen to use o ring caps, instead of threaded. Some of the leakage is from the wicking; some is from condensation. Mine leak slightly from the air hole in the cap, if I happen to over tilt.

Yeah I haven't had the same prob with my RBAs with the Oring caps. I'm gonna try a thicker wick to see if I can cut down on the amount of juice on the platform. Thanks for the feedback

also if you use a straw type wick with a large center channel it is possible that if you over tilt juice can possibly escape. although I don't use wicks like this I have heard of people slightly pinching the top of their wicks. but most likely it is the possible gap between the wick hole and wick like rule mentioned. a gap is good but to much will produce juice escapees.

That was it! I rolled up a thicker wick and the leaking has not come back. Too much juice was getting on the platform threw the wick hole and traveling down the threads. Disadvantage of not having an O-ring there, but having caps come off in your pocket sucks! Ill go with the screw tops any day. Love it! Ordered a short DID this afternoon. :toast:
